i've been mildly busy this week. monday i went to meijers and then started my new volunteer gig at connor's school. tuesday i was in the nursery for ladies' bible study at church; then i hit sams club. today was book study at another lady's house and back home to get kickin' on some laundry. busy, but not overwhelmed. which made it super hard to figure out why in the world i had zero… and i do mean zero energy.
my first thought was b/c i hadn't been to the gym this week. the timing wasn't working out since they added an aqua fit class RIGHT when i normally swim. and after my morning activities were done the childcare room was closed, so i have been trying to figure out how i'm going to fit in my swims. i hit the diet coke and coffee pretty hard this week. that wasn't helping as much as i had hoped.
and then it came back to me. short flashes of memory recalling midnight runs down the stairs. meg has been waking up every night for the past few nights. this hasn't happened in ages. we'd have the occasional bad dream, but nothing like this for a long, long, long time. it's been a while since my kiddos have dragged me through the land of the walking zombie moms. but here i am again. half dazed and mostly confused. my house has suffered the most. thankfully, in my bewildered state, i've still realized that it's more important to find the energy to feed and clean the children than to dust the tables and sweep the floors.
here's to a full night of sleep!

Emma has been waking in the night now for several months. I think they go through a security phase. I understand it is exhausting. Hope she sleeps through the night again soon.
