life since florida

well, i am without internet. our ip address got wiped out somehow when i was installing a wire. how that happened i'll never know. so here i sit at my mom's. i was planning to come out here and do this today, but then i planned to go shopping and spend the afternoon out. well, i got out here this morning to find my mom soaking up water from the water heater...yikes. she has parent teacher conferences until about 8 tonight, so i told her i could stay and wait for handy manny. (no that's not his name but it's one of connor's fave cartoons.)

we had a delightful flight home. it was smooth like butter and connor slept for all but 30 minutes. sheer delight. i couldn't believe it. when i checked in online i made sure i had an aisle seat, but then when i checked my bag i noticed that my seat had been changed.....to a window. well, i knew that wouldn't fly. if i had to get up with connor i would not want to be crawling over people. i checked with the lady at the gate and she said, "no soup" the flight was full and she couldn't get me an aisle. well, i wasn't giving up that easy. when we boarded i got to my seat and found two nice ladies sitting there. i named them carol (total selstad twin!) and lorraine (reminded me of my neighbor that "didn't particularly care for" my son's middle name...what a hoot!) they were so nice to let me have the aisle seat. connor was squirelly at first, but i gave him a book to settle him down. he had his juice during take off and soon was completely zonked out. he slept until 30 minutes before landing. it was amazing. i even got up for carol and lorraine three times! i noticed a few funny things on this flight. the lady sitting kiddy corner to me was a real chatty cathy. i don't think she piped down for more than 15 minutes the whole flight. the poor business man sitting next to her was so nice though. he just listened and let her talk. but the crotchety old man across the aisle says, "boy, this one........ she never quits!" it was hilarious. there was another funny lady behind me. she was so antsy to get on the plane and then found out she was in an exit row. she couldn't speak english very clearly (thick eastern europe accent) and she definitely wasn't going to help open the doors (all of 4 ft 11 in). so getting her in another seat was a treat. then when the plane landed she clapped. she may have been freaked out of flying which i can totally relate to, but it was still pretty funny to hear her throughout the flight.

yesterday was "get food day". i had nothing. no diapers, no milk, no bread...i had to hit sams and meijers. so on the way to sams we stopped at gramma sanders and had our lunch. it was good to see her. she took a little spill the other day and black & blued her face (three stitches on her cheeck). but she's looking pretty good and stitches come out today. and on the way home from meijers we stopped at papa and gramma's. it's no wonder connor wouldn't eat much dinner....he had a cookie at both houses.

so now here we are waiting for the repair man at my parents house. we'll see what happens today.
