6 hours of paradise left. we're all checked in and hoping for an open seat next to us again. that was great on the flight down. connor has successfully discovered every inch of the house without breaking anything. but i couldn't have been so lucky. no, i didn't break anything.....just dropped jo-g's phone bill in the middle of the street. alligators have probably snacked on it by now.
earlier yesterday i had wrapped up the trash bag to go out. i set it outside the back door, but still in the garage. i wasn't 100% positive of where it went and connor was whining for juice, so i just figured i'd ask about it when everyone got home from work. well, poppa jo-g had physical therapy for his neck so when momma jo-g came home she was alone. after a short while she had to go pick him up and we came along for the ride. on the way home we stopped and picked up the mail, and i was holding it. we pulled back into the garage, where i saw the trash i had forgotten about. i got out of the car, SET THE MAIL ON THE HOOD OF THE CAR (stupid, stupid, stupid!!) and asked just the right spot for the trash. oh, good, i've taken out the trash....how wonderful. glad i didn't forget to ask about that. boy, THAT would be irresponsible. *take out trash and walk in house*.
many hours later.....
poppa jo-g comes home from missions conference at church. and asks, "cheryl, what did you do with the mail when we got home?"
it didn't really phase me at first. then she said, "i didn't have it." OH, NO!!! the memory of holding the mail was slowly coming back. "christina brought it in." OH, CRUD!!!! the memory of putting the mail on the hood was loud and clear. i am sure my face was classic as i turned around to face the music and tell my father in law that i had stupidly forgotten about placing the mail on the hood of the car.
it probably would've taken a while to realize what happened, but some neighbors were out walking their dog and spotted some mail that had been soaked by a sprinkler. they picked it up and flagged him down right as he was getting home. of course, they found only junk mail. the one thing that i had remebered seeing was jo's phone bill. STINK, STINK, STINK! so we went out into the night and searched the streets for a short time. i even checked the nasty storm drains and said i would go in if we spotted the envelope. SO glad we didn't. who knows what snakes are living down there. yowza! hopefully, someone spotted it before too long and put it back in the mail. otherwise, jo-g, you'll be wanting to print your bill online. sorry, man. i know, i'm an idiot.
so in an attempt to make it up, here are some jo-g highlights.
ok, maybe not. can't seem to upload the little boogers. well, it's the thought that counts. at least i didn't lose important documents....oh, wait.

Great news sweetie! Someone in the neighborhood found Jo-g's mail, wrote on the envelope "found it in the street" and put it back in the box. We got it today!! Don't beat yourself up any longer. All is well (so now Jo-g just has to pay his bill!) Thanks for coming - come back soon. Love ya lots!!
