all good things must come to an end......but florida shouldn't. the little man and i have had a great week down here in sunny florida. i can't believe this is our last full day. connor has loved his momma and poppa jo-g time. it really is so nice to have family that loves us.....it's almost weird to think that's not the norm for all "in laws". we are truly blessed to have them. not every "in law" family would let the "daughter in law" come to their house for a week without the precious son...sorry, babe, but i guess you really are "dog meat" (an affectionate nickname--no, really!) we are very thankful for our momma and poppa jo-g!!
daddy had quite a night. he flew from cali to phoenix, then b/c of a computer glitch had to wait on his flight to vegas which held up his flight to his original destination of oklahoma city. he probably got in around 3am, checked into his hotel, got an hour (if that) of sleep, and then got up to be at work by 7am. so if you think of him, just pray for strength. this is a three city week and he's only just begun.
saturday uncle jo-g came to visit. we were going to go down to marco island to see him, but he's still looking for a place (currently staying in a hotel....not exactly conducive for a family visit). so instead he came to us and we splashed in the pool and grilled out steaks.
nathan just called to tell me his flight got in at 4:30a instead of 3a. his night was lots worse than we anticipated. he was stuck in phoenix for 11 hrs., vegas for 6 hrs., and by the best guess of the ticket counter his luggage might be in chicago by now. he boarded 5 planes and only flew on 2--he was pretty sure at that point that his luggage wouldn't be where his body was. but their team made the best of it. they had a nice restaurant dinner at the vegas airport and hit one of those oxygen spa places and got massages. not too shabby. on a positive note, he got an hour and a half of sleep instead of just an hour. (i'm sure that doesn't FEEL positive). he's at work now and he's been through 4 cups of coffee in 20 minutes. my poor baby. today is showday and he's hoping that they load up quickly so he can be in bed before 8pm b/c tomorrow bright and early they fly out to texas. so now, if you think of him pray for his body and his golf clubs. sounds goofy, i know. he didn't mind losing the clothes so much, but he was kind of bummin' about the clubs. those babies aren't cheap. hopefully, they will make it to oklahoma before nathan hightails it to tx.
oh, yeah....here's a typical kid move--i was getting ready friday to go up to the school and connor was (as usual) in the bathroom while i was drying my hair. i had a little styrofoam cup on the edge of the tub that i had used to give him a bath. he grabbed it and was tossing it around. no biggie, i thought. next thing i know spazzy mcgee has it in about 10 pieces and is CHEWING!!! oh, great. so i grab his little cheecks and pry open his mouth--the kid has jaws of steel i tell ya. i can see one teeny piece of cup way back in his mouth. he was starting to gag on it so he was trying to cough it out.....i was trying to sweep it out of his mouth and then----GLUMP! down it went. oh, well, i thought. it'll be back in a few days. though, i personally won't be looking. :)
well, i don't want to do laundry when i get home so i am off to do some now.

Sounds like you're having fun with the in-laws. There's no snow on the ground here in Detroit, if that makes you feel any better about coming home. :)
Ha! That will be a special treat in Connor's pants! Kids crack me up. Luke definitely has chewed up his fair share of styrofoam, but I don't think he ever ate it. He's picky about his food. :)
Have a great last day!
