starting with the title. i couldn't think of a witty title tonight. nothing really sumarized my mood or the contents of this post. i thought maybe "snore" b/c i'm bored right now.....nah, too negative. then i thought "~~~~~" b/c i couldn't think of anything anyways......nah, too blah. so i decided to pull out the ever popular happy faces. artsy, don't ya think? i chose :o) b/c we're doing well even though we're bachin' this week. nathan is still out on tour, but connor and i have been quite busy with some projects and hanging out with my mom, and tomorrow going to visit auntie nic. i thought it would be way harder but i have found that truly God gives the grace you need when you need it. even in this little thing. then i chose :o( b/c...well, obviously we miss the big man. connor's favorite word is "dada". today he was playing with one of our old cell phones (which is now a connor toy) and he was saying, "hi, dada!" it was so cute.
we have been all over town today. i started at 10 this morning and hit pier one, bed bath & beyond, world market, and target. can i say i LOVE our a.p. shopping center. add meijers and i will practically LIVE there. i can't wait for that to open. but sadly, i found nothing at pier, bed, or world. so i decided to just buy the shelves i liked at target. they were a little more than i planned, so i just figured i would buy my new decorations in segments. no biggie. while we were in target*****HUGE ACCOMPLISHMENT HERE***** i showed connor his juice and i said, "how do you ask? say more please." he didn't whine, he didn't yell, he didn't turn red with pagan anger, he just signed "more". i think i'm actually getting through to this kid. my day only got better. after nappy time, i thought i would hit kohls since it was such a nice day. i get there and find out that all frames and shelves are buy one get one free!!! yippy skippy! yeah, i said yippy skippy........i'm tired of writing yeah, and i just wasn't feelin' woo hoo tonight. then it got better, the large shelf was sold alone, and two smaller shelves were boxed together. UNBELIEVABLE. and the cool thing was, these shelves don't stick out as far as the target shelves so it just seems to look better in our smallish living room. i was on a roll, and with the money i saved from the shelves i was able to buy some of the frames i would need. hiddeous selection at kohls, so i headed over to the yucky target to check their frame selection. lo and behold, "our spot" was open. see, at the taylor target there's this one spot two lanes from the main entrance. it's right by the handicap spots so many people assume it's a handicap. but it's a psych out. i think b/c of the landscaping there's not exactly room for handicap access so it's a real deal close up spot. before the good target came, nathan and i would always go there and see if "our spot" was open. the funny thing is, normally it was! hence the title "our spot". it just felt like home today when i pulled up with connor and said, "look buddy, our spot is open. daddy would be so happy!"
so tomorrow i'll be back up at target returning those shelves.
we hit the soccer game today. great job, daniel and josh! sorry we didn't stick around to say hi, but i was STARVING! got some cute pics, and then i had some random shots from connor's recent discovery. he can crawl under his saucer like it's a tent. he loves it. he sings when he's in there. apparently there are great accoustics.

Hey, I saw this and thought of how I feel sometimes when I am trying to think of a title. I hope you can make it through the week without the big man. I like it when you put pic's up like the soccer game and etc...makes me get to see whats up thee alittle. :)

Good for you making the most of the time while Nathan is away. I always dreaded when Steve had to go to San Fran for 5 days 1x a year. Sounds like some serious shopping deals going on :)- good for you!

It's so funny that you ran across my blog the other day, cuz I just found yours on Sunday (through the Pittsleys'). You are way better at journaling than I am, though I'm trying to be better about that! Connor is so cute! I can't believe how much he's growing.
A few weeks ago Alex & I flew to see my folks for a week and it was cool to see that when Ryan met us at the airport Alex gave him a smile! It's fun to see a boy & his dad! -Jessica

well, i'm trying at least. :) he's home for two days then out again. then he'll be home for a longer stretch b/c one show is in detroit. after that is a super long stretch.....yowza. but at least we know this is short term.

pittsleys hooked me up too! how funny. i was actually talking to my aunt claudia about how much i've written of connor's first year on this....we were both saying that if i have any more kids they'll get hardly any journaling. cracks me up, but probably true. :) i'm gonna have to link you guys in the pals & gals nursery section. :)
