more connor goodies

i know these posts are mostly for myself,  so i will remember, and for the grandparents, so they can enjoy these moments. but i just can't resist them. they make me love connor so much more, and i know they will do the same for meg once she starts talking. 

i love listening to music throughout the day. i will often pop in a cd to enjoy while i'm cleaning. connor instantly becomes a musician and starts playing whatever instrument he can find--or make up, or he will suddenly sing at the top of his lungs. of course, he doesn't always recall the correct lyrics-- which really works out for my comedic enjoyment. 

he was singing "speak, o, Lord" and got to the phrase, "help us grasp the heights". it usually comes out as, "help us crash the heights!" 

another part of "speak, o, Lord" that he sings in a special 3-yr-old way is the word "likeness". it gets dragged out and sounds more like.... "like--eee--ness".

when we sing "across the lands", he includes quite a dramatic pause after "rings OUT!!" and then finishes the line, "across the lawn." this one caught me off guard yesterday and i laughed right out loud. i sure hope i didn't discourage him b/c i really enjoyed that one. 

last night we had meg's family birthday party. i went over to my parents after lunch to finish some things up and decorate. nathan and connor went down to the little par  3 golf course just a few miles from my parents house... well, a bit more than a few, but down there does it really matter? it's like they live in oscoda. it's fabulous. 

so, anyway.... they went down to the course while i decorated and meg napped. connor was given a set of clubs from his cousin kennedy that she had outgrown, and since he already had a larger set from a friend at church, nathan decided to have the snoopy set cut down to fit him right now. he calls them his "snooby-doo" clubs. they've gone to the park to practice, but this was the first time taking his clubs to a course since they've been cut to fit. of course, he loved it. they played 9 holes, and nathan said connor shot a 51--with only a handful of, "can i just throw it?" shots. at one point, nathan was getting ready to swing and connor whips out this gem, "daddy, you my friend are a natural!" now, he may have heard nathan say this to him when they were out playing together, but it just kills me that he manages to get it in the right context. 

i have bunches of pics to go through from meg's party. i'll probably post them later today .... or maybe tonight.... possibly tomorrow..... meg had a wicked night. probably a stomach ache from eating a pound of sugar.... yeah, her cake eating skills are amazing.
