i'm slightly ashamed to tell this story. how could target betray me thus??? maybe it was my lack of sleep last night. maybe it was the fact that my little man has been sick and i wanted to get him a special treat. maybe it was b/c i'm a ding dong and didn't check the pricing BEFORE i bought a massive 4-pack of juice boxes. any target shopper knows you have to check the pricing on their so called "value packs". they don't always give the lower price.... i should KNOW this. but, alas, i don't often buy juice boxes, and i was guessing at the price of a regular package. to compound my hasty decision, i had a coupon burning a hole in my pocket and when i did the math i thought it sounded like i was actually getting a decent deal. it wasn't until i got to meijers that i realized the actual price of the juice boxes was LESS than what i was getting them for at target. i was internally fuming the rest of my trip through meijers. how could i have been so stupid??
so i finished up and headed home. defeated. i was getting ready to tell nathan what a horrible shopper i had been on that one account, and by then it was more of a funny story than me just being ticked at myself. and wouldn't ya know it, my little man once again brightened up my day with a great connor moment. he saw me walking in the door with the watermelon and he started jumping up and down on the couch yelling, "yahoo!! woo hoo!! mommy got us a water-lemon! yeah, for water-lemon!!"
i love that kid. he totally deserved the extra $1 i spent on those stupid juice pouches.

UGH. I've been there on the couponing/shopping blunders. I get so ticked off at myself when I err like that. Glad God lightened your spirit through Connor's cute comments!
yes, alicia-- i am often taught/rebuked/challenged/shown my selfishness by God using my sweet children. they are quite useful in that way. :) one of the many reasons i am thankful for them.
