we got him the annual "grampa's calendar". let me just say.... EVERY year, we tell him he gets the calendar on his birthday. and EVERY year he whines about getting it halfway through january. so let me explain: my sister and i do lots of calendars, books and pictures for christmas gifts. it takes LOTS of time to do those. so we figure, it's only a couple weeks after the year starts and dad can wait for the calendar until his birthday. this saves us time AND money since i can sometimes get deals after the christmas rush. besides, my dad is the most impossible person on the face of the planet to find a good gift for.... if he wants it, he'll buy it. last year i told him he wasn't allowed to buy ANYTHING until after christmas. one year, my mom was bidding on something for him on ebay and he was bidding on the exact same thing. apparently, he was willing to pay WAY more than my mother. he kept raising the price and she was going nuts trying to beat him.
we had a great dinner for him this year. nothing beats bone yard ribs. :) if you're a true local you will know this and agree with me completely. if you disagree.... things may happen to you.

Seriously?! He's not 47! Tim will be 45 this year. How come my brother is just a couple years younger than your dad? :)Wow. On the other hand, I could of had a niece my age. How cool is that?!
yep. he's a mere babe. my uncle bill is only a year older than my cousin (his niece). i always thought that had to be so weird. but i love it that my parents are so young. i thought it was so fun growing up with young grandparents and i love it that connor and meg get to enjoy that, too.
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING, compares to Bone Yard ribs. They are the absolute BEST!!
