elvis night

thursday night was a client appreciation event for nathan's office. it was held at crystal gardens and it was a 50's theme night.... complete with elvis impersonator. yep. some .....uh.... interesting fella dressed up and sang elvis songs while we ate and the guests won prizes. i'm not a fan of people that dress up as .... well... anything. when i was little i used to hide under the table when chuck e. cheese came around to give hugs. when i was about 12 we were at a national park and smokey the bear was there taking pictures with kids. i was convinced that the only type of person that would dress up in a costume like that had to be a pervert of some sort---thank you, gramma for instilling that in me. my parents forced me to go into the picture anyway. i'm still scarred by that, by the way.

all in all it was a fun night. my mom watched the kids so i enjoyed the down time. even though we took pictures with him, elvis kind of freaked me out a little. it was funny to see him singing to all the ladies though.

nathan borrowed a shirt from one of the high school boys. they had a 50's banquet this year. i borrowed a poodle skirt from one of the girls, but ended up not wearing it at the last minute. it was cute, but i went casual instead.
