need a laugh?

who can't use a chuckle? the first story is true. the names have not been changed b/c there are no innocent to protect. it's just flat out stinkin' funny. this morning the alarm was going off and i was getting ready to go turn it off.... at least in my head i was. sometime during the night i had nestled down into a perfect little divot in my mattress. you know the ones..... where you sleep in the same position so after flipping your mattress so many times you just end up wearing out divots on all sides of the dumb thing. kind of funny... and at the same time all too depressing to realize that you can actually create a divot in your mattress no matter what size you are. i've never thought of myself as ginormous.... just cozy. :~)
so there i am listening to that all too annoying sound, and i start to roll over to flop myself out of bed. hmm..... let's try that again. ok? ready.....1.....2....3..... roll!!! nothing. at this point i'm starting to feel like a turtle that's been flipped on his back and can't get back up. so i start flailing my arms and legs wishing at that point that i was a roly-poly, able to curl up in a ball and set myself upright once and for all. of course, in that case, i would be constantly tormented by small children with sticks.... didn't you guys do that? ok, so maybe i was just odd, but roly-polies were worth hours of fun at gramma's house. finally, nathan realized what was happening..... most likely b/c i slugged him and yelled, "hey, i can't get up!" he got up and turned off the alarm and all was well. it took me a while to finagle out of bed, but that's not unusual at this stage of the game.

my next story is pure connor. he loves to wrestle with daddy. this consists of nathan putting him in a headlock and connor trying to wiggle his way out. he calls it jujitsu. two nights ago i was getting him ready for bed and he took some of his stuffed animals and squished them between his legs and told me he was doing jujitsu. then he pounded them for the next few minutes. the next night i got it on video. partly for the action packed jujitsu and partly for the outfit. he got into his new big boy underwear and wanted to put them on. nathan was at a work seminar and i was too tired to argue that you aren't supposed to wear underwear this way....so here's what he came up with: oh, yeah, daddy helped him enhance the outfit once he got home.

look at that cheeseball! what a funny guy!

yep... he likes diego.

gotta have a muscle shot.

this is one of my new favorite faces..... absolutely not a care in the world.

and now for the jujitsu!

I like when he asks his animals if they want a piece of him! Not too familiar with the rest of the wwf longo . . .what does tap out mean?

Oh my, your roly poly description was hilarious! I felt like a beached whale trying to get out of bed near the end of my pregnancy. Ah, the suffering we endure!

It comes so natural for boys to wrestle and be rough. I love it!

brenda-
i'm expecting a little sass butt. :)

alicia-
tap out is from ultimate fighting (the one where the guys are basically in a cage and wrestle/box/kickbox/anything goes until one gives up or gets knocked out.) to give up they have to tap either the mat or whatever they can manage. nathan just went over to a buddy's house to watch a match so it's been the theme of wrestle time lately.

kelly-
that's so true! one day connor told me that "ava is a girl so she plays dolls, but he is a boy so he plays sports like soccer." i was pleasantly surprised by this discovery of his.
