when daddy cooks

we've all been sick around here. first connor with his puke-ville, then me with the sniffles, then nathan with the sniffles, then me with a flu bug which i'll keep to myself (hopefully, on this blog and in my home), then with the coughing all around. it's been quite a week.....and a half. so this weekend we have been quarantined. connor is doing much better... thanks for asking. nathan is suffering through with some aches and pains, and i'm just hoping to get out of this alive. we're a pathetic bunch. but we've had some fun between naps these past few days.

i watched some movies, nathan watched some sports, connor watched some tom and jerry, we played toys, we read books, we soaked in long warmish baths... well, connor did. i took a nice hot shower. doesn't that always just make you feel better?

friday i had a doc appt. so nathan took me there while the little man played with ava and liela. i'm told for the most part he talked on the phone to uncle mike giving away our secret song. each night i sing songs with connor. sometimes i make up songs. one night when nathan was hunting i made up a song to the tune of "farmer in the dell" (or something close to it). i was making up songs about everyone in the family.

when i got to uncle mike i was stumped. all i could think of was sometimes he has a beard. so the song went:
uncle mike is weird.

apparently, connor gave me away and told aunt nic the song. woops. as for the doc everything is looking good. which i probably could have told you. this kid doesn't stop. definitely another connor. yeah, i think it's a boy. maybe i'm just hoping, but that's my thought.

so since i have been semi-out-of-commission, my menu has been semi-set aside. i've just rearranged everything and stuff got axed b/c nathan had two dinners and a lunch with work stuff last week. i don't mind flexing. especially when i have free wendy's coupons. yep. free. how you ask? i'll keep that story to myself to protect the innocent. don't worry i didn't steal anything and it's not anything that you could get your hands on by going online so i'm not being stingy. well, i guess getting free wendy's is about as stingy as you can get..... so anyway.....

connor loves fries and i love how he says 'french fries'. just watch his lips. btw, connor is sporting his new-to-him hat and mittens from miss lora. thanks, lora and andrew! he loves them and so do i. :)
