fun times and funny little man moments

so today is our fun day. i've had a few tricks up my sleeve for when nathan passed his test. my mom is coming over to watch connor so we can go out for an evening of celebration. i am pretty excited b/c i am horrible at pulling off surprises for nathan, but this time i've really done well. i'm pumped about it and i'm definitely going to post pictures tomorrow. right now i'm plotting and planning just how i'm going to pull of the entire surprise......since he's driving he kind of has to know where to go. i'd drive but he freaks out when he's not in the driver's seat......no matter who's driving. it's kind of funny and nice at the same time.

lately the little man has been....well, to put it bluntly....a delinquent. as we speak, i am reminding him that climbing on the table is unacceptable. he used to scoot his stool to the couches and climb up to read peacefully. as it turns out he's quite a thinker....if the stool gets him up higher, why not climb up on EVERYTHING high. the kitchen chairs were next, followed quickly by the table. he used his stool to get his little paws up on the kitchen counter, and yesterday i went into the office to find him standing on the swivel chair...not cool.

the space is to show elapsed time....haha! i started this earlier this a.m. but had to break b/c of getting the little man brefix, cleaning, pulling him off the table!!!!! the usual. so now it's about 1:00p and finally the delinquent is off to nappy nappy land. i'm tellin' ya he was a ball of energy this morning. i finally had to put his stool away as a punishment b/c while i was working on the "clues" for nathan's surprise he was climbing onto EVERYTHING! it was unreal.

the boys helped me by cleaning up the living room this morning so i could get the kitchen cleaned up. now i just get to sit back, relax and wait for our fun times to commence. i can't wait. you're going to love how i gave the clues.

oh, thursday night....WAY FUN!!! if you don't have a pulse, you may not know about our virtual walk being sponsored by the fabulous brenda. we've been adding up our miles and we have already walked to spain! we vistited alice (who put together a wicked good slide show to welcome us) and now we're headed to the rice paddies to see carol. so to celebrate our "walk" a few of us local walkers met at on the border. it was a blast. i rarely get to go out like that, so it was quite a treat. we just talked and laughed and had a great old time. now we're ready to lace up our shoes again head to china! and since it's finally nice outside (warmth? so soon? it's only may? what the????) the little man and i will be strapping on the old blades so stay off the streets of allen park.

and now a few quick funnies. the first one was not so funny for the first few minutes, but then it became hilarious. nathan called me after his test (of course, my stomach was in knots and i was completely freaked out) he starts with this sad little voice and says, "how ya doing?" at that point i wanted to smack him. how do you think i'm doing??? i can't eat, i can barely function, i got two hours of sleep last night, and i'm about to die if you don't tell me how you did! so i calmly answer, "well, i'm ok. how'd you do?" then he starts with, "well, you know how you get three strikes and you're out in baseball?" oh, crud......this can't be good. a sports analogy that ends badly. "yeah," i said pathetically and understandingly. "well, i hit a GRAND SLAM, BABY!!!" that's when it became funny.

the little man's vocabulary is really expanding lately. a few of my new favorites are:
mammies=jammies
gok=sock
gicker=sticker
he loves to color now....though he doesn't have a clue which colors are which. and unlike his cousin, ava, who says, "good morning!" when you wake her....he likes to say, "cereal. milk. eat." and good morning to you too, buddy!

brenda has graciously given some photos from our fun "virtual walker" dinner. enjoy!

we celebrated spain with mexican food....works for me...it's a fave! it was delish by the way. excellent choice brenda...can't wait for the chinese though...that's my first fave.

little man was a big fan of the chips....and all the attention he got!

hey, mom...you got any more of these chips? i can't get enough of them!

contrary to what this picture might tell....i don't do drugs.

i just loved how his hand was propping up his head...i know you can't see it well, but it was too cute to pass up.

thanks for the fun time girls!

Can't wait to hear all about your surprise outing! Is it killing you to keep it secret?

Yay for restaurant mexican food! How long did it take you all to virtually get to spain?

THe chinese says "I don't have one, why?" just so you know the offer has to stand. :)
