"celebra-shee-own"

if you've ever watched king of queens you'll get the title. just think of doug saying any word that ends in '-tion' and you'll know.

we definitely had a celebration! i have honestly been planning this for months. amber hooked me up with mypoints--basically, you open tons and tons of emails and get points to redeem for all kinds of good stuff--and i love it. (seriously, email me if you want it...all you do is open emails and you get stuff. and bonus: i get points if you sign up under me, so get crackin'!) normally, i would get enough points for a starbucks $5 gift card and i would redeem them right away and grab a coffee during a target run. one day i got to thinking about what i could do when nathan passed his tests. i figured a nice evening out would be in order...but i also knew that applebees or buffalo wild wings wasn't going to cut it. i wanted it to be a really nice dinner for just the two of us. commence plotting and scheming. i figured if i could hold out and get tons and tons of points, i could get a gift card for a nicer restaurant. so one day i went searching through the possibilities on mypoints and found out that i could get a $25 gift card to restaurant.com. so i searched that site looking for a local place that i had at least heard of.....bingo! sammy v's was a very nice italian place that we had gone to for my uncle bob's birthday one year. it would be perfect. so i saved up my points and got the gift card.

ok, so dinner was planned...but i just didn't want it to be dinner. the city it's located in is fabulous...right on the river, tons of cute shops, quaint architecture, just a really enjoyable place. but i wasn't sold on the idea of just walking around town after dinner. so i made a mental list of nathan's fave things to do. planning this just got a whole lot easier....food and golf. that was all i needed. so i searched around and found a driving range not far from the restaurant. we ate, we laughed, we relaxed, we went and hit a bucket of balls. what more can a guy ask for on his celebration day? not much i'd say.....but it gets better!! after golf we still had some time (we ate dinner early so i knew we'd have daylight to hit the range) so we went back to wyandotte and got an ice cream...blue moon is the greatest ice cream invention EVER. i will eat that stuff 'til i'm 80! i love it. and all the while connor had a wonderful time hangin' out with granny b and ava.

*shameless plug* so if you want mypoints let me know and i'll email you the link. it is ridiculously easy to get points, and to redeem them all you do is a few clicks on the computer.

so, here are the clues for nathan to figure out what we were doing. i made a golf bag out of an old t.p. roll and the straws were the clubs with the clues wrapped around them.

he humored my child-like excitement.

at the driving range. i was waiting for nathan to go get a bucket and i just thought these clouds were marvelous. it was a really beautiful day.

our famous cheeseball self photo.

this little steeple stretching out looked so peaceful. with my luck it's probably some pagan ritual church that sacrifices birds or something weird.

what form! i forgot to pack my extra shoes....oops.

i was pretty thrilled b/c that was my last shot and it was PERFECT! i should've hit the tour.

ready....aim....

FIRE! nathan is actually a pretty good golfer.

woodchuck or beaver??? you decide.

Fun times. You're so creative. That last picture reminded me of Caddy Shack, so I'm saying that it's a gopher in a beaver costume. Oh. And how sad, only 4 more new King of Queens.
