gilmore night

last night was classic. nathan had a game, but connor and i stayed home. (weird naps lately, so he was out cold when we would have been leaving for the game). anywho.....

since it was gilmore night, i --of course-- let him stay up for the song. he was in him room playing when the theme song came on. he had been banging his hammer for the last few minutes, so when he heard the song he stopped and came running around the corner flapping him arms like he was about to take flight. it was hilarious. i sent nathan a text and found out he wasn't going to be long, so i let connor stay up until daddy got home. when nathan came home i replayed the song (i had taped the episode), and connor did the exact same thing. so nathan taped connor's reaction for me.

now here's my list of disclaimers and excuses:
1. the house is a wreck b/c i woke up sick yesterday (i'll tell the story after my excuses b/c it's a long one)
2. my hair is hiddeous b/c my curling iron bit the dust and i'm waiting on a loaner.
3. i don't think i had on any makeup....'nuf said.
4. connor is whiney b/c it's getting late at this point
5. this wasn't our best dance b/c he was tired and i was not wanting to be taped.

ok, now my sick story. this was wacky. i got up to hit the snooze and felt dizzy. i've had this happen before and only once was it really serious (i think it was a flu when i was pregnant--that was freaky). normally, i just sit down for a second and it goes away. this one hung on for a while plus i felt sick to my stomach. this isn't unusual either. i have weird blood sugar issues in the morning and i will puke if i don't eat brefix. it's not always horrible, just enough to make me feel really hungry, but on occasion i have felt like if i don't eat NOW someone will die. so combine the worst of those and that was my welcome to a new day. not so hot.

i got connor some brefix and decided to hit the corner gas station for some vernors. nathan was getting ready so i just snuck out of the house before he could stop me. i get there in all my glory--hair barely hanging onto a pony, jeans and a nasty sweatshirt. another lady had pulled in to get gas right before me, and i pulled next to the door. i hop out and go pull on the door.....locked. what??? the lights were on. the sign was on. the door was locked? ok. maybe it was stuck. so i go try it again. nothing. the lady says, "is that door locked?" i was so tempted to pull out a "here's your sign"......nope, it's open. i'm just the worlds weakest woman attempting my world record for number of doors i can't open.
so i go to the window and peek in....looks empty. i could see behind the counter and into the back room. then my mind started racing. what if this place is being robbed? so i banged on the window and looked around on the floor for bodies and hiding felons. looks clear. but i'm still outta here! i was freaked at that point. just then a green explorer pulls up. the lady says, "oh, someone's here." to which i replied, "that's nice. i'm outta here." i got in my car and started to pull out, but i knew going anywhere else would take forever and nathan needed to leave soon. besides, i couldn't just leave sign lady to walk into a trap. so i waited for tweedles to get the door unlocked and turn off the alarm. that made me feel better about the idea of the place being held up. if there was someone in there the alarm would have been going. so i ran in grabbed my vernors and was on my way. my stomach was fine after that and i only felt slightly dizzy throughout the rest of the day. which leads to my excuse for the mess. :)
