don't know what to do with myself.....

i'm a little lost right now. my parents have whisked away connor and ava for the second attempt at professional pictures. connor was in good spirits today, and left quietly with grampa to go pick up the av-meister. hopefully, they'll come home with some amusing anecdotes. nathan is up at the school for his vb game. i was going to walk up there, but it's stinkin' cold and i'm not at northland anymore. "walking up to the gym" doesn't hold the same amusement that it once did in the good old north woods.

so it's totally quiet. so weird. i found myself doing all the "quiet things" i do so not to wake the little man during the last moments of naptime. there are certain boards that can't be walked on....they creek like the dickens and HE KNOWS. i even found myself thinking, "hmmm...no noise. he must be up to something." DUH! he's with mom and dad. but i'm not complaining. a little quiet time is appreciated. the only problem is, since quiet time doesn't happen often i find myself freaking out trying to think of all the things i want to do and not just relaxing. what's up with that?

i got some cleaning done in the basement. the tools are officially organized. next, tubs o' junk. some tubs are half full. some tubs are full of extremely random things. i'm just going to do my own little clean sweep.

spazzy squirrel was back today. in fact, he freaked me out pretty good. our kitchen sink is a corner sink with two small windows directly above. there's a wire that connects just above the left window. well, spazzy scales the wire, uses the window to jump down to the fence and then travels the fence to his tree. usually, he freaks me out b/c he is dangling from the gutter trying to get onto the wire. his front paws are holding on for dear life while his hind legs are frantically scurrying in mid-air trying to get some leverage from the screen on the window.
so today i was walking into the kitchen and he plasters his entire body against the screen, then falls to the fence. i'm sure his normal cirque du soleil moves have been hindered b/c of his winter girth. well, anyway the whole thing reminded me of the time a flying squirrel was hiding in the cabinet outside the cabin awaiting the exact moment my mom would open it. then YAHOOO!!!!!! flying squirrel in the face. oh, yeah. it happened. who knew those agile little tree dwellers would be so devious? i did, my friend. oh, yes. i did.

this was connor's thing today. he crawled in and out of this chair....just because.

i stole this from david's facebook....what a bunch of goobers, huh? and this is fairly typical.

That was exactly how I felt the first full week that I had all three kids in school full time. It was like...what do I do...where should I go...lunch by myself...wierd! But I adjusted real quick :) Glad you got some 'me' time. It is good from time to time
