neighborhood randomness

some weird happenings i noticed. not weird, really...they just make me wonder about what goes on in the heads of some people. let's start with mr. and mrs. feedy mc feederton. i don't know their names, but i see them daily. they walk the neighborhood feeding treats to all the dogs on their path. if it's a particularly cold or rainy day, they drive. they're more reliable than the usps...seriously. mike and nic's house happens to be on their daily route. and of course, jackson gets daily treats. you might be thinking....."oh, that's nice of them. boy that must cost a pretty penny." yes, it's nice and i'm sure it can get expensive.....BUT.... they don't just give one reasonable treat to each dog. they give a handful of regular size treats and two or three huge treats that could keep mr. ed quiet for about 30 minutes.

and they're bold. i can think of 5-6 times when i've been over at nic's when they came by and she very nicely asked them to only give j-dog ONE treat.
"oh, but he's a big dog, honey."
"yes, but he's not eating his food and i don't want him to get sick."
"ok, honey. sure."

next day.....many treats. once nic was downstairs eating brefix and there was a knock on the back door. it was the lady asking about j. now, they live in a tri-level house on a corner. so to get to their back door you have to go in the fence and down about 4-5 stairs. bold lady. there's a dog next door to nic and they have a pretty tall privacy fence.....the lady goes right in. they just won't stop. once, i was taking care of j-dog when mike and nic were out of town and i had a run in the with man. i must have given him an evil eye b/c he didn't say anything and he didn't leave that many treats....i was really tempted to make up some story about how sick j was and that he had to be hooked up to iv's b/c his blood was poisoned from all the unhealthy food he's had lately....but then i remembered that mike and nic have to live there and that would have been pretty mean. they are pretty good at being patient with those two. i'd go balistic.

sometimes i wonder who funds these treat peeps. did earl and pearl win the lotto? did they skimp their kids out of any inheritance so they could lavish the dogs of allen park. did they lose a favorite dog in a tragic sledding accident and vow to spread their love to dogs everywhere? whatever the story......they are a downriver original.

and since i'm on the subject of dogs: i'd say 95% of the time i go out of my back door the yappers behind us go nuts. and the other 5% of the time they must be inside b/c they are like clockwork. our door makes a really annoying squeak when you open it, and i'm pretty sure that's what sets them off. but MAN are they annoying! yap, yap, yap!

i'm not a dog person. or a squirrel person.

spazzy squirrel came pretty close the other day. he was about 4 feet from us while we were getting into the car. that little booger has no fear. nathan chased him away with rocks b/c we seriously thought he was going to jump in the car.

anyway.....

They kind of sound a little psycho! To knock on someone's door daily to give treats to 50 million dogs goes beyond a casual treat to a dog outside near their walking path. Yeah I would be weirded (new word :) out too!

ok, have you ever thought about writing a script for a comedy sitcom or something??? Honestly, I'm laughing so hard my side hurts!

you are way tooo funny! I agree with everyone else. you should write something it would sell. I'd buy a copy and then tell all my friends to get one too!
