last night was spaghetti night. so bath before nursery was a must. daddy got home just in time to help give (and get) a bath. connor is quite a splasher, and with daddy involved.....mayhem. absolute craziness. and a whole lot of fun.
today was pretty blah...so far. we took daddy to work and hit meijers right after. as usual, connor made friends in every aisle. he says, "hi" to anyone and everyone. and he's been making that big time cheeser face to those he deems worthy. a cute old couple in the baking aisle won that prize today. the lady asked me where the evaporated milk was....come to think of it, that's the second older woman who has asked me about evaporated milk. was that big with baby's back in the day? b/c she said she only asked me b/c she wondered if i still gave it to my baby. i told her i thought it was at the end of the aisle, but i spared her the detail that i've never (to my recent knowledge) purchased evaporated milk. i must have had a nice face on today b/c that was the second person to ask me for help. you know....actually, lots of people ask me for help in meijers. isn't that weird? i saw my friendly bread man today. i typically end up in the bread aisle when he's stocking the shelves. once, connor had a baseball jacket on and mr. bread proceeded to tell me about his son's t-ball career. he kind of creeped me out today so i just said hi and grabbed what needed fast.
today we're going to see dr. beaman for a check-up and a flu shot. we'll probably see nic and ava there b/c av threw up again this morning. poor baby. at least nic is feeling a little better.
i made a pumpkin pie yesterday b/c i had a pie crust that was going to go bad if i didn't. twist my arm why don't ya? ok, ok, i'll make the pie. i had a funny idea to carve an H in the center before i baked it....turned out ok. i was quite proud of that. and this is definitely my best pie to date....of all two pies that i've baked.
ok, now i just have to throw this out there. we've been hearing some very good sermons lately that were very applicable and practical for our family. everybody knows christmas time is tight, moneywise. but we've been really trying to rely on the Lord for our needs and asking for our desires knowing that the answer might be 'no'. can i just say that God is SO good? HE has given us above and beyond what we could have asked. obviously, with nathan floating from job to job while he studies to take his next test, things are up in the air. but God has used people and random things to give us more than we need. i am so thankful that during this "not sure what's gonna happen" time we have the ultimate gift of God's provision and peace to know that He KNOWS what our needs are. i find it quite ironic that i worried more about money when we were both working steady jobs. and now....i just know not to worry. that is only b/c of God's undeniable peace. things may come and go, but God's love abides forever.

My mom swears by evap. milk for babies (she used it on both me and my sis). Before we got approved by WIC and then when I realized how ridiculously expensive formula is in the stores I tried an evap. milk home-brewed formula for Chloe. It worked well but it didn't have enough substance for my monster baby.
