little man and i took our sweet time getting ready yesterday. we had a nice leisurely brefix, i dried my hair and put on makeup, and then i looked outside.....wow! beautiful!!! the sun was gorgeous and it was really warm. i decided to go for a walk. i had to mail my christmas cards and i was debating walking up to cvs to get a Rx filled. nic would definitely want to get in on this action. or so i thought....
as i got closer to nic's house, i thought.....hey, that looks like my mom's car. that's funny....hey, that IS my mom's car. she's playing hooky. but really she wasn't. poor nic and ava were both pukey, and mom was there helping do laundry and lysol everything in sight. av was up all night and nic was wiped....plus, she was sick. those two kids have been through the ringer. they both just got over a nasty cold and now this flu bug.
well, that made my visit quite short. i dropped off her christmas card and headed in the opposite direction praying that connor wouldn't get sick....nic and av had been over all afternoon the day before, and i know all too well the amount of damage the con man can do when he's pukey. i'm just thankful that tomorrow he's going to get his flu shot. hopefully it helps.
i walked up to cvs and thought through my plan of attack for cleaning ALL the toys when i got home. as we walked we were on the lookout for kujo. i know where all the neighborhood dogs live and i know if they are attackers or loungers. the path to cvs is pretty clear. there's one house that has a sign on their fence that is something to the affect of: snapper can make it to the fence in 4.6 seconds. how fast are you? pretty funny. and true. that dog's a beast.
well, there's one lady that feeds the squirrels. yeah, in my book that's right up there with feeding seagulls at the beach--rats of the sky. she's got this corn cob out on a little stand attached to a tree. we got up near her house and i counted about 7-8 squirrels. so i started yelling at them b/c i didn't want them near us. squirrels in this 'hood are pretty feisty. they're fearless and will charge when food's involved. their mantra "don't mess". all of a sudden they scattered.....hmm? wow, my voice is more powerful than i thought. then from out of nowhere a hawk swoops down and tries to nab on of these pests. he came pretty stinkin' close too. that would have been sweet.
well, i got to the cvs and found out that with new insurance my Rx was going to be quite a bit more than before. so i asked the pharmacist to just give me the generic. my doc had noted on the script that the pharmacist could "substitute if not covered". that's an exact quote. but he insisted on calling the office. i believe it's a total power trip. did you ever see the seinfeld where jerry talks about how the pharmacist is two feet above everyone else? hilarious. the good doctor wasn't in yesterday so the nice girls at the office said they would dig around for a free sample until doc could ammend the Rx. they are so nice.
so i booked it home to see if i could catch my mom and borrow her car before she left nic's. phew! made it just in time. i walked pretty dog gone fast. 10 minutes from cvs to my house. including navigating the field where lapham was recently torn down.
then after nathan got home from practice we hit staples to check out the camera collection. that's our "family" present. after that we hit salsarita's and coldstone. we had gift cards and coupons and got our dinner/dessert for all of $10. pretty good i'd say.
no pics today. deal with it.

Yeah for a new camera! Have you worn yours out on Connor?? He's only 1! :) Have fun shopping.
Sounds like an eventful Tuesday! Your life is way more exciting than mine. :) I'm with you on the dog situation. We don't avoid the scary barking dog houses anymore though because Chloe LOVES dogs. She seriously just growls back at the meanest looking dogs. And there's one cute little tiny dog around the corner that jumps up on her and licks her face every time we walk by!
By the way, we feed squirrels and seagulls. It's my husband's doing. :)
Lapham is torn down? Man that is like a childhood memory for me. When I was a kid I did a sport or registered for some event every summer...I was forever pumping my legs on my bike to Lapham...good old Lapham community...may she rest in peace. :0(
What will take its place or is it just a hole where my memories used to be?
Sometime soon I'm going to post about the satanic squirrel in my neighborhood. I'm TOTALLY freaked out by it. I'm lovin' Ace's new scrunched-up-face-winkled-up-nose smile! I think I got at least three of those last night!!!! SOOOO cute!!!

that sounds so cute. i would love to see her growling. :) i have to say, i'm somewhat saddened by the news that you feed the rats of the sky. but you have to remember, i'm a major league bird watcher's granddaughter....a bird purist if you will. :)

i know. one day, nic and i were blading by and the dozers were out in force. it's nothing but a huge field right now. i haven't really kept up with what it will be, but a quick online search tells me (as of 11.17.06) that it's fate is still being debated. i vote for a really nice big park. it's sad to know that my gymnastics career will never take off now.....oh, well. :)
brenda-
i'm tellin' ya....the squirrels are trying to take over!
the kid's a ham. what can i say?
Oh man and I have been limbering up for years to rekindle my gymnastics career...maybe they heard we were still hopefuls and that is why they quickly tore it down. :)
hahaha! yeah, for sure. :)
