two pieces of work

connor and i have had some crazy happenings the past two days. i didn't want to tell my story b/c i was mortified that i did it, but then connor's happened and i thought "i can't tell his w/o mine...it just wouldn't be fair" and his is too funny not to tell, so i have to suck it up and tell mine too.

ok, so last night i was waxing my eyebrows....don't start laughing until i finish! i just wanted to get them nice and clean before florida so i wouldn't have to pluck so much....i HATE plucking. (which is all nicole's fault anyway. one week when i was home from college nicole was examining my eyebrows and found them way too bushy for her liking, so she pinned me down---literally....i'm serious!---and proceeded to pluck my brows until they were satisfactory. so from then on i had to pluck WAY more than ever before b/c she made them so stinkin' thin and shaped. come to think of it the waxing is her fault too, b/c she does it and i thought i could do it....wrongo!)

well, the right eye went well. nice and clean with just a few to pluck when i was done. then i moved to the left side. i put a little too much wax so i tried to be really careful to push it downward when i smoothed on the fabric strip. well, hot wax doesn't care how careful you are. it got smooshed up into the middle part of my brow. then RRRRRRRIP!!!! wow, that was unusually painful. *look down at the strip* OH! MY! WORD!!!!! what have i done???? oh, no! oh, no!! *check out the damage* YIPES!!! yes, there was a bit of a mishap. i took a nice chunk out of the center of my brow. thankfully, i bought a dark brown eyeliner when i was still selling mary kay, so i can "fill in" until the majority of the hair grows back. thank goodness it grows fast. and really it's not as bad as it sounds, so don't come up to me at church and stare at my eyebrows. it looks fine with the filler. and trust me if it looked that bad, i wouldn't have told the story.

i went over to nic's this morning to use her sewing machine. well, i wanted to show nicole the damage so i didn't "fill in" when i put on my makeup. i was going to do it after nic's and before i went to target. well, i needed something from joann's to finish the pillowcases i was sewing (which nicole did mostly) so i asked if she could just watch connor while i ran up there fast. sure no problem. after i went through target and was walking into joann's i realized that i had a hole in my eyebrow and i had forgotten to fill it in. you've got to be KIDDING ME? oh, what a dork!

and now connor's woe....... while auntie nic was watching him he kept trying to put his hand in jackson's drinking water. a few swats later, he still wasn't obeying. (he really loves splashing in water). he had plunged his arm into the bowl and was very wet. so nicole said that for his punishment (and b/c it was pretty much the only option) he had to wear ava's pink shirt until his shirt was clean and dry. so i walked in the door to find connor crawling around in a pink wife beater looking like a trashy boy. girls in pink tanks--cute. boys in pink tanks--hilarious, but not so cute. i couldn't stop laughing. and i had to take a picture.

check out these guns!

mom! i promise i won't play in jackson's water anymore....now can i please put on a different shirt? i'm losing precious manhood points!

ok NICOLE - you will pay for putting my little MAN in a pink shirt. Oh yeah just watch ava because revenge is mine. and chrisina - y is this picture on here. I know that I told you it was ok but that was before I saw how sissy he looks. I mean let the boy go naked before EVER wearing girls clothes. First Gilmore GIrls and now this. I know that I haven't been on the road that long for him to be a girl. He has my permission to burp and fart whenever he wants (oh wait he already does that). Thank for the post I love to see what's going on at home. See you Saturday Early.

OUCH!! Glad you didn't lose any more of your eyebrow than that, and thanks for sharing your story even if it was a little embarressing:)

very funny stories... I've never waxed my own eyebrows, but have certainly thought about it. I would be too afraid I would take off half my eyebrow too. Enjoy your trip to Florida. I think it is going to be in the 80's next week.

Okay, so we saw the picture of Connor in the pink shirt. Now where is the picture of you without your eyebrow filler?

christine-
yeah, me too! i'm just glad it's fixable.

shyla-
my first year of teaching some of the kids thought that was my last name for a few weeks. i realized it and tried to explain (with pictures) a grove of trees...wasn't happening.
one of the boys went home the first day and when asked by his mom which teacher he got, he replied, "mrs. hairdo" that one stuck with our asst. principal.
