i went to babies r us yesterday and picked up two pairs of pants for connor. he has tons of play clothes for fall/winter, but i was really squeezing him into his church clothes the last few weeks. so i just got some khakis to make it through. koala clothes are great. they are nice looking and cheap.
after i got home i was going to post some cute pics of connor playing in one of his toy cubes. then my dad called and asked if he could drop by and wait for my mom. she had a dentist appt. so he was going to come to my house, go for a run, shower, and then they were headed out to dinner. my dad came over and proceeded to show connor how to shoot the pirate ship cannon at noah's ark. "he won't last 40 days and nights after we're done with him!!" he then shot cannon balls at the ark until noah got knocked off and there were gaping holes in the ark. it wasn't pretty when the elephant realized they were goin' down.
my dad was running by mike and nic's when mike spotted him. so nicole calls my dad's phone, which was of course on my couch, so i answered. she said to tell dad to stop at their house. well, he didn't go over there 5 minutes after she called so she came over to our house. as usual nathan was gone and everyone just happened to come over at the same time. and as usual, everyone bolted when they heard nathan was on his way home. yeah, i know the truth. you bunch of punks! ......totally kidding.... but it does seem to happen that way. so i gave my parentals a guilt trip and they stuck around to say hi. of course, 5 seconds before nathan pulled up, they were headed toward the door b/c they were SO hungry. if not for my mother's hummingbird size bladder they would have missed him. all i heard was, "we're so hungry! i'm starving! i'm old and i don't want to wait..." waaahhh! somebody call the wambulance!
after everyone left, it was time to cut connor's hair. nathan's closing everynight for the rest of the week at tpc and then he flies out saturday to start the tour. so i knew it was now or never. connor is getting WAY squirmy and it is getting pretty hard for nathan to do this, but i must say, i'm impressed. we did the "let connor play in the sink while we sneak cuts at his hair" trick. it worked pretty well.
tonight i have nursery duty so ace is going to hang out at aunt nic's with snuffaluffagus ava. they will make quite a pair tonight i'm sure.

i took this pic b/c of my dad's shmoe hairdo (still wet from the shower), and ava's oreo stuffed face.

i put both b/c i thought it was so funny....ok and b/c i love this outfit. it's from my cousin nanette.
i can just hear him thinking, "oooh, camera time....everyone love me!"

Love the bashful face...he is gonna drive some chics crazy later on in life with that one :-)
Great retro rocket, Connor! And that bashful face is a keeper. That's much nicer than my girl's squinty face.
It's so nice to know you've got so much family nearby to help out while your husband's gone!
Hey Christina, on Sunday Collin was looking at Josiah when he offered, "He's about the same size as my cousin Connor." Nothing against Connor, but I hope your almost-13-month-old boy still has a couple of pounds on my almost-8-month-old chunker. It made me smile anyway.
carol-
yeah, i had to run into krogers yesterday, and he was workin' his magic with some chicks in line behind us. all i could do was roll my eyes and think, "here we go!"
alicia-
amen to that, sister!
jenny-
oh, that's hilarious! collin is quite a friendly little guy isn't he? he's always been a people person.....and very much a thinker. he was probably eyeballing josiah and comparing the two for a few minutes. :) very cute.
