goodbye, sweet spinach.....

well, it's official. my spinach has been recalled by natural selection foods. at least i bought some romaine too. i love lettuce...actually, i love spinach and romaine. iceburg is just a filler to me. it has so little nutritional value. what a bummer. it was the last one on the shelf too. and now, it may be contaminated.

rest well, dear friend. for today you go to the trash. maybe i'll do the humane thing and send it down the disposal. yeah, at least then it can go out with dignity.

$3 down the garbage disposal sure beats hundred (maybe thousands) of dollars spent in the hospital! We'll be sticking with romaine for now too.

I'm pretty cheap myself, but I just read about e-coli. Don't even risk it! Yucky!

Can someone tell me what is up with the spinach over there? I buy my from a farmer on the side of the road and he didn't fill me in on the recall. Seriously whats the problem? Is it like mad spinach disease or something?

yeah, pretty much. there was a big outbreak of e. coli and it was linked to some contaminated spinach. the thing is, the grower sells to TONS of companies, so basically everyone in the u.s. was freaking out about bagged spinach. i would say you're good to go. i've heard good things about roadside spinach. tripple washed, isn't it? :)

wash, rewash, then wash it some more. yep that would be triple. Seriously, if they have ucky looking hands I don't buy from them either. :(
