there are three big canoe races that the big dogs aspire to. my dad has finished two of the three! pretty cool. he has finished the au sable marathon, and the general clinton. the longest 2 and 1 day canoe races in north america (i think), as you may recall from my super long post about the au sable race.
~~~ok, i just have to say this....i like blogging b/c i can talk and talk and no one can tell me to shutty! i don't have to notice those awkward social cues that people give when they don't want to hear your story. if you don't want to hear about my dad's race, then don't read about it. and no offense whatsoever. and by the way, for those of you that REALLY know me....yes, i do use hand gestures in my head when i'm typing~~~
so now he's got one more to go...La Classique internationale de canots de la Mauricie...
yeah, good luck with that name!
anywho....here is a cool picture of my dad and his partner garth during the general clinton.
oh, yeah....forgot to tell you this little tid bit....nathan is hooked. he's going to try a 2-hour race later this summer with my dad. so tomorrow we will head over to the river for some paddling.
Someone loves to watch King of Queens ("Shutty!" - or did you come up with that one before Doug?). I'm astounded at how much you blog. You're doing circles around me. Hey, wanna come out and play some time?
My post won't comment about your dad's canoeing except to say, "way to go!" I bet all that paddling is great for his heart and biceps.
Mind if I steal your countdown ticker to Chloe's 1 year bday? Very cute!
