and then, i discovered pinterest. YOWZA! talk about the most super delightful way to waste my life on the internet. i made a reward system that i (of course) found on pinterest, mainly for the purpose of helping me gauge connor's video game usage. i'm pretty sure it will be put in place as mommy's pinterest reward chart.
a lot has happened since i've sent my message out into the world wide web. connor's been doing well in first grade. meg still loves to play pretend… using high and low voices to give life to each character. we joined a new gym that opened on the hill. so far, it's been super fun and i haven't felt that "i paid for this so i'm forced to use it" pressure. tomorrow i'm going to give the spinning class a whirl… badoom CHA! nice pun, right? we'll see how that goes. it's an hour long class. if i make it out alive i'll let you know.
oh, minor detail… my dad had a heart attack so we've all had to alter our diets. since the first day we were with him in the hospital i've had horrible heart burn…. which i, of course, self-diagnosed. i've had it since then. on and off. so pretty much any stress i caused my father up until my 30th year has been heaped upon me 10-fold. you're welcome, father. he seems to be doing fine. still regulating the meds and making sure he's ok for physical activity… he's dying to get back out on the river, which coincidentally is the place where he almost died. yeah, he was paddling when he had the heart attack. knucklehead. that's a delightful family story… maybe later i'll share. but tonight i just felt like getting back on here and dusting off the shelves.
so before i fizzle out i bid you adieu.

As I am not on facebook anymore, it was good to "hear" from you. Welcome back to the blogoshpere.
Welcome back, Christina! I'm right there with you on pinterest. I keep evaluating whether it's worth it or not but I keep justifying it and letting myself continue. I've gotten some cool ideas from it that I've actually tried (as opposed to just dreaming and planning to try). How'd the spinning class go? Hope your dad is well enough to be back on the river soon!
suzanne--thanks! it's been fun to get back to it. btw, i am loving your creative crochet ideas!
alicia--thanks to you, too! initially, i didn't want to create my own account. i didn't see the purpose. but then i started planning a kitchen refresh. it's been nice to have a single location to store ideas… that is, a location aside from small scraps of paper stashed throughout my house. :) much cleaner. too bad i get sucked in so easily. haha! spinning was fabulous… highly recommended. and my dad, believe it or not, is hoping to paddle in the marathon this july. as long as his doc gives him the green light. i think there may be a doctor i need to bribe somewhere in wyandotte. :)
