mom, i want need some privacy. can you shut da door?
me: meg, are you eating like a big girl?
meg: no, i eat like a pig.
*talking to her stuffed bear* oh, no! you so wet... i need change you. der you go. clean and dry.
i have a ballerina ornament that i've had since i was a little girl. meg loves it this year. she wanted to sleep with it the night we decorated the tree. she keeps saying, "oh, princess 'arina' is byoo-ful. she mine?" i keep telling her no, but today i said, "maybe someday i'll give it to you." she lit up and looked at connor, "oooh! hear dat? she maybe give it to me. she byoo-ful."
she and connor were sitting on the couch snuggled up together and she leans over to him and whispers, "hey, connor?" ....."yeah, meg?" .... "what time is it?"
meg wanted orange juice. i emptied the carton but it didn't quite fill her cup. she freaked out and with her most dramatic voice said, "oh, no! mama, we out of orange juice? what we do?!?" i told her not to worry b/c i just bought some more and she said with utmost relief, "oh, you bought more. ok." crisis averted.
mommy, i want you!
*sorry. not now, meg. i'm cleaning.*
oh, ok. it ok, mama. i forgive you.
*how gracious.*
a lot of times she starts sentences with, "mama, i want need....." or "mama, i can't never do it."
the other day meg was in trouble and as i was explaining to her that she had done wrong and it was sin, she interrupted me and said something that made me think it was all making sense to her. through tears she said, "mama, i don't like sin......." and then reality hit.... "i like princess aurora."
then she was sitting on the toilet having a little attitude and she says, "mama, you make me mad." i was feeling fun that morning, so i decided to explore that a little and see if she really WAS mad. so i asked, "why do i make you mad?" her answer was a bunch of jibberish and rabbit trails which further confirmed that she often has no idea what she's saying.

She is so cute! I love the "I want need" and "can't never." So adorable. Simon is at the cutest age for talking too. He's been saying "actually" a lot lately, tagging it on here and there. I gotta write stuff down, b/c I forget all the funnies like 2 minutes later.
I also love "der you go." She must have a little yooper in her!
