christmas break went by in a hurry, but it was a blast. action packed and full of fun, cookies, and just enough sickness for my liking. i think i had strep.... but it didn't stop me. we didn't do our normal christmas. usually we pack up and head south for a few days to hang with the hairgroves and wheelers. we missed it for sure. that's always a super fun time. greenville is a nice place. the mansion always looks fabulous for chirstmas, and we love hanging out with the fam. but this year we were home. i have to say, it was the perfect year to be home. the kids were totally into christmas this year. we had snow which connor and i were LOVING. the river was frozen so we got to skate for our christmas eve. fabulous! that day was a blast. christmas morning we got to wake up and open presents in the living room, and then we skyped with momma and poppa jo-g to open their presents. after that it was off to the tally party.
then after our action packed christmas we packed up and headed north. that's right. deep north. we went up to good old dunbar, WI for my cousin's wedding. haven't been up there in more than 8 years. it was cool to see the face lift they have given a lot of the campus. i was NOT a fan of how many trees they have cleared off campus. it wasn't as woodsy as i remember, but i will give them props on the remodeled camp rooms. very nice. and warm. :) david and abigail got married on new year's eve. it was a very nice wedding. connor and meggie got to be part of it and neither one of them cried or freaked out about walking down the aisle. huge sigh of relief from this mama! it helped that they had buddies to walk with. some of our college friends have been close to abi and david and their kids were in the wedding too. it was super fun to catch up with them. and after the reception we had a huge party in the rec hall. never had so much fun in that room before. :) btw, they now have a huge screen that rolls down for tv. excellent.
i have to say it was a blur, but it was a blast! i was hoping to teach connor how to tie his shoes over the break..... oh, well. :)
pictures are backwards.... ah, well....
