look out, allen park! i'm back on my blades!
i love warmer weather. not hot. warmer. i can appreciate a nice toasty day at the beach, but what i really love is spring and fall. but in reverse order. fall rules. being my second favorite time of year, this spring has not let me down. it's been warm enough to enjoy some bike riding, outside playing, and... one of my faves... rollerblading.
last night was my first blade of the season. i was going to head out with the kids by myself. nathan was planning to go running later, so i figured he wouldn't want to come. at the last minute he decided to roll with us... boy, am i glad he did! we were bouncing along--- has anyone else noticed that our side streets have become more like swiss cheese?--anyway, we were bouncing along and i thought, "hmm... that front wheel looks funny... kind of wobbly." i said, "nathan, i think we may have a problem." so, i started to slow down to tighten the wheel, and then nathan took the stroller to see if he noticed the problem. right then, the wheel took off ahead of him! it was like something straight out of a movie. so he stopped the kids, and he rolled after the wheel. he managed to snag it before it got too far, but it had to be a funny sight.
later as we were headed home he was asking if he could do something... OH, i thought he wanted to get out and walk. but i was trying to explain that he couldn't get out while i was blading. clearly i misunderstood him b/c he stopped me and said, "mom... mom.... that wasn't my statement." excuse me? what was that?
i guess i should put a few pics from meg-pie's bday party. just to keep the peasants happy.

a happy spring to you all!
