he's slowly starting to remind me more and more of calvin. all he needs is his hobbes. i'm sure meg would love to fill that spot. she is walking everywhere now. last week she was boldly taking steps out into nothingness.....she'd be holding onto a box/couch/chair/anything and then take a few brave steps. then she'd drop down and scoot to wherever she wanted to go. within the past week, she's nixed the scooting entirely. she's a walkin' fool. and pretty stinkin brave about it all. when she falls on her butt, she doesn't get mad or cry.... she laughs. she crinkles up her nose and fake laughs her biggest fake laugh. this is by far my favorite stage of kiddiness. 12-24 mos. they are so stinkin' cute. they learn how to walk, talk, feed themselves, go to the bathroom.... if you're lucky (me, not so much). anyway.... CAH-UTE.
so, then today we hit up the school supply section at tar-jay. connor and i decided that we would get some fresh pointy new crayons for coloring, and we would melt down his old broken crayons to make some cool rainbow style funky crayons. he was pumped. i could tell he was excited b/c right when we unpacked the bags he asked if he could color. normally, i use coloring as a means to my own sanity. "connor, don't you want to color for a while?"---- *read: connor, don't you want to sit still for five stinkin' minutes so mommy doesn't have to bash her head against this wall????*---- he pulled out a crispy fresh pointy white crayon and plopped down with his george coloring book. he started coloring away, and then he stopped. with his little brow furrowed, he looked up at me--dejected--- "hey! these things don't work!" i loved it. it was so hilarious, and secretly i was hoping that he would ask to go immediately back to target straight to the customer service counter and demand a refund.
but he is still sweet and untainted by "the customer's always right-eeitis".
mom, there's somethin' in my eye.....
what a messy girl.
hey, at least she eats, right?
and let me tell ya.... this girl EATS!

these are old, but so fun. look at that crinkled up nose. and connor with his tootsie roll in his mouth. he loves those things.

ADORES her big brother. and i love it. i always wanted a big brother. now, if i could just convince him that he's supposed to protect her and not shove her away from his toys. hmmm.....

the real us. :)

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the adorable Sunday School story. I love that he had to text. G-Moma was cracking up when I told her about it!!Aunt Dawn said she just learned how to text this year!!
Love you all so much.
The texting story was darn-tootin' hilarious. They are both so cute.
Meg's adoration of Connor is cute. I love seeing my boys interact. Luke is finally taking on a loving, protective role with Simon - unless Sim messes with anything of Luke's, then Luke has him pinned on the floor and starts whacking. That is sadly accurate. :) Simey will get him back one of these days. Not that I'm looking forward to that!
I have to tell you...nate caught a fish at mom and dad's the other day and then let connor put it back. then like..10 seconds later he caught another one...maybe even the same one. He reeled it in and connor said, "oh, how hilarious" it was pretty hilarious to hear that with his expressions and all.
nic have you ever heard him say, "oh, this is gonna be CLASSIC!"
I love that pic of Spaghetti Meg where ace jumped in. Gavin's just like that, if I whip out the camera to take pics of Charlotte, he just HAS to be in them too!
