here are some connor stories i've been saving.

connor came out of the bathroom struggling to untwist the waist of his pants. then he said, "UGH! why does this always happen to my life???"

connor's been having a bit of ... um... well... an attitude. i didn't know it could pop up so quickly and wreak such havoc in my life. such is life. anyway, i always wonder if anything i say is getting through b/c sometimes he has the attention span of a squirrel on speed. but the other day he made me smile when we were finished with our... devotional thoughts.... and he said, "i think i should pray to Jesus for my disobedience." then he prayed something like this, "dear Jesus, thank you for my disrespectful attitude (this is where i raised my eyebrows and thought about stopping him... until he finished....) to go away." as long as it's getting in there. :)

we got a new-to-us picnic table for our backyard, thanks to aunt claudia's finding skills. so this summer we've had bunches of dinners outside. LOVE IT. of course, connor was always wanting to get down and play rather than sit still and eat his food. or else he'd finish super fast and keep pestering to get down. ever time we ate outside nathan would tell him to chill and just chat with us while we had dinner. EVERY TIME. finally, one triumphant night connor looked up and said, "dad, tonight i won't ask to get down. i won't say i'm done. i'll just chitty chat."

connor LOVES taking baths. which is really convenient. he's always into the dirt and typically he's filthy. he's been really into taking showers since it's so big-guy-ish, but he still loves a good bubble bath....WITH toys. one night i was getting meg ready for bath and i was asking her if she was ready to go. as soon as connor heard me say the word bath he piped up with, "i'm dirty!!"
