yesterday, i let the kiddos play outside. connor was thrilled. he has been asking to "play in the garage" for quite some time now. D & E -- my new babysitting venture-- enjoyed the time out, i'm sure. i even cleaned off the grill and made the burgers outside last night. by then it was a bit more chilly, but still nice enough.
right now, i'm sitting here listening to the rain watching meg discover that by pulling the string she can make the baby chick vibrate. she is quite pleased with her new discovery. poor girl has been fighting the sniffles for a little more than a week now. it was pretty nasty at first. the green boogy nose was in full force. now it's just the dangling cough that sounds super yucky. but she's so happy you'd never know it. she's recently discovered clapping and loves to do it all the time. she is no doubt enjoying the time to play solo. she's usually got connor and some other child handing her toys, taking her toys, telling her no...etc. but i have enjoyed the past 15 minutes just watching her play and discover by herself.
the other night i was running late with bath time and decided to let them tag team the tub. i had meg in her little infant seat and connor got the rest of the tub. he was thrilled to teach her just how to play in the tub. he took some bubbles and made a beard for himself. and wouldn't ya know it, meg took her little hand--scooped up some bubbles-- and slowly patted her little chin. i was cracking up! she watches him so intently.
she's everywhere and into everything. she still scoots with her little suction cup hands, but she's been figuring out that her knees can serve a valuable purpose to the whole idea of mobility. i'm sure the wood floors have dictated her choice of movement. it's so easy to slide on her belly.
connor has been his typical funny self. today he was being a pest and nathan was telling him not to be a pain in the butt. he had to sit out of the fun for a few minutes b/c of it and nathan went to talk to him about it. he asked him what lesson he had learned and connor said, "i can't be painting the butt." sometimes you've just gotta take what you can get.

This is so precious. I am so missing those two right now. Love the bath time. Give them both hugs and kisses from us.
We are planning to leave Sat. am to drive to GA to see the cousins until Sun. pm. Steven is preaching. Want to hug huddy. Love ya.
I LOVE your connor stories. He's such a goof!
