after i said, "go ahead and get in the bath, buddy."...... "boy, oh, boy! am i ready for bathtime!"
nathan came upstairs a few minutes late for dinner, "hey, dad. would you like to join us?"
when he took a break from running for a sip of apple juice, "ahhh.... free-freshing!"
i love that he never uses contractions, and there's too much "mommy gush" hanging on to that bad habit. so if any of you correct him, you're in trouble! :)
here are some examples:
"mom, meg's a good sister, is she?"
"wow! that was a ginormous truck, was it?"
i was just explaining to connor that if a person dies with sin in his heart he will have to go to hell to be punished for that sin. he asked, "what hotel?"
i babysit two days a week for a friend from church. she happens to be canadian and will often say "eh?" at the end of her sentences. apparently, this sounded pretty cool to connor b/c he's been throwing it on the end of tons and tons of sentences lately. "mom, this is a good snack, eh?"
i love the way he sings "i'm in the Lord's army".....
i may never march in the "infirry"
ride in the "calvary"
shoot the "atillery"
i may never fly over the enemy
but "i am the Lord's, are you?"
last night was meg's bath night, and he comes into her room with his sleeves rolled up and his arms up like a surgeon ready to get his gloves on and says, "well, i'm ready to help!"
he loves his little blue new testament. nathan went to check on him in the bathroom one time and found him sitting there reading. he likes to tell us that he's reading about when Jesus died on the cross.
he's a great helper with meg. he will often help her with a toy that's just out of reach, and the other day he saw her spit up and he ran to her room for a burp rag and wiped it up like a pro. he's got a stronger stomach than daddy in that department. :)
there is a local restaurant called portofino that advertises on tv. one day connor was downstairs where nathan was on the phone with a client and heard daddy telling the client that they needed to "rebalance the porfolio." connor likes to repeat conversations he's heard on the phone. so this one came out, "we need to rebalance your portofino."
and now, it is past my bedtime. something connor tries to scam out of nightly. for some reason, when i'm standing at the door saying my final goodnights that child becomes a fountain of mind numbing questions. "so mom, what are we doing tomorrow? can you do shadow puppets? i think there's a hair in my mouth... i might need a drink. do you know how deers give kisses? can we go to grampa's and go paddling? umm... ummm... ummm....." goodnight, connor!

oh that was such a funny post! My favorite is -"boy-oh-boy, am I ready for bath time" - what little boy says that - hilarious!
Cute stories. I am glad that you are writing them down somewhere for your kids to be able to read someday :o) Good memories!!
