connor was such a sweetie all day. even when i was freaking out in typical christina form about stupid things. he made me crack up at the silliest things. we were getting ready to go to church and i asked if he was ready to go to his class. here's our conversation:
do you want to go to church?
yeah!
and go to your class?
and you will go to your big class?
yes.
and i will go to my little class?
yeppers.
and it's only just for little people. cuz i'm little.
yes. that's right.
and i'm a people.

so, we got to church and heard a wonderful message on worship.... honestly, it was fantastically challenging and a great blessing. then, i was surprised by a super special direct answer to prayer. and after that it was off to uncle paul and aunt elaine's to celebrate some july/august birthdays.
we had a great time laughing and singing happy birthay 5 times. yes, we sing for EVERYONE. apparently, when i was little (little enough not to remember) i used to ask to be sung to after everyone else's birthday song. so every birthday some jokester will say, "and now we have to sing to christina!" i honestly don't recall a birthday when this joke wasn't whipped out.....frequently followed by, "christina, do you know your colors??" that's another family joke i hear a lot b/c when i was first learning my colors my mom and dad wanted to show everyone how smart i was and i guess i biffed big time.
you know, my cousins better appreciate all i've put up with for them. i've blazed a serious trail. it's been smooth sailin' for all those crazy kids.

doesn't it look like she's singing into a mic? she was sitting there singing 'happy birthday' so sweetly to herself.

my mom made the cake. since we all wanted a different kind she made each section just the way we wanted it. chocolate with chocolate icing....chocolate with white icing...yellow with white icing.....and yellow with chocolate icing. good idea, huh? and everyone had their own decorations. josh got the golf section. laura got the chef cake. nic's is the camping and mine is the beach stuff.

nicole's cake picture wasn't great so i used this one b/c she looks pretty and li is cute. she'll be 26 august 1st.

and my gramma....you'd never guess she's going to be 70....on august 1st, too! she walks miles and miles a week. bikes EVERYWHERE. teaches Bible school all the time. bowls with the ladies. has the energy to watch my and nic's kids whenever we need babysitters, and is just an all around cool lady. i love my gramma.

my dad is such a softy for his girls. he's sporting the t-shirt for this year's canoe marathon. yep, that's this weekend!! i'll tell the story next week.

this one is for gramma sanders. she told me to take a picture so she can show all her friends down in kentucky. my mom, aunt elaine, gramma tally and gramma sanders are going down for a reunion weekend. ROAD TRIP! they are going to have a blast!

hopey is the baby lover. i just happened to snap the picture as meg's num-num fell out. she was totally happy until that happened.
