i've got nothin'...

we've been busy around here, but it's just been stuff.....nothing extravagant. last weekend i had the girls from my book club over. well, two of them. some were sick, some were busy, some may have fallen off the face of the earth for all i know. we had a grand old time chatting it up. then sunday night we got together with some friends from our sunday school class. connor stayed home from church b/c his cough was still dangling. nathan kept him during sunday school and then walked up for the church service and we just sat in the atrium. it's really nice to have that b/c in those situations we can still be at the service without sharing the wealth of connor's germs with kids from his class. we ducked out right before the service ended and met up with my parents for lunch. then that night connor crashed at grampa and bb's so we could go to church and then hang with our friends afterward. he must have had a good time b/c as we were leaving he was walking to the car and said to nathan, "well, this was a fun day!"

he's been into that lately. all on his own he'll tell us that he's had a fun time. one of my favorites is, "well, that was a nice treat!" his phrases (more likely, the ones he's picked up from us) have cracked me up. he loves to help me with something and then say, "here ya go, sweetheart." sometimes he'll just randomly tell us he loves us or that daddy is his best buddy. he's quite a dreamer. he's always planning for "someday". he'll tell me, "i'm gonna go in the boat and paddle with grampa someday".... "daddy will teach me how to play tennis someday"... "when it's summer we'll play golf outside someday".

hopefully, that someday is here. it's been wicked nice outside. i'm sure we'll have a cool off here and there, but we are definitely loving the sunshine and warmer weather. yesterday we played outside for a while and i have to say i haven't seen that kid so excited in a long time. he ran in circles in the front yard swinging a stick like a golf club at the few leaves that didn't get scooped up before the first snow flew. we had an enlightening discussion about the difference between the sidewalk and the street. we now know that the sidewalk is for people and the street is only for cars. he wasn't running out into the street or anything, but i wanted to make sure that didn't happen anytime soon.

nathan's getting busy at work and coaching an aau vball team. baby megan will be here in less than a month and i'm getting more and more ready daily. her room is taking shape and this weekend we went to a resale shop close by that's closing and bought her a ton of sleepers and onesies. i'm pretty sure i have enough clothes for her now. i do want to get some little sweat pants that i saw at target, but i don't feel rushed anymore. i've definitely got her first months covered. i'm pretty excited about having the summer months to get into a schedule with her. with connor we had a few good months for walks, but then it was indoors and snow. this should be fun since the little man will have something to look forward to besides sitting inside while i take care of baby sister. he'll be shooting hoops in the backyard that's for sure.

tomorrow is another baby meg check up and our last paper route. let me tell you that my sister and i have been doing an amazing job at the boys' route. seriously. the first trip took us over two hours. but the next time we strategized more and kicked it out big time. i'll tell you about it tomorrow after our last trip. hopefully, i won't come as close to killing gramma as i did on saturday. haha!
i found these pictures from a couple sundays ago. connor and ava were sick and stayed home from church and my parents brought us lunch and connor's easter basket.

here, connor. i'll help you.

av was so sweet. she was waiting so patiently and not trying to dig into his stuff. she even patted his back when he opened a candy that he really liked.

my mom found this little gun at tjmaxx that shoots foam discs...... thanks for that, mom. connor loves it. with all the money connor got from his easter baskets (from gramma sanders, momma and poppa jo-g and a couple buckeroos from my parents) he bought some summer pj's. he's got a few dollars left over to put toward some summer church shirts too. but he was way more excited about the candy from gramma, the doggie backpack from momma and poppa jo-g and the gun from bb and grampa. i'll get a pic of the dog pack... he loves it.

whippie, do-da!! You finally posted pics and a new story. I was so tired of seeing "sickness has engulfed us" because I'm home sick yesterday and today. Asthma, bronchitis breathing treatments - I needed a Ace, Meg break. I'm almost finished with Meg's blanket ... will be sending it soon. Give Connor a hug from us. We miss you all so much.

We're loving the warm weather too! Chloe cried yesterday when she had to come inside for her nap. Golfing with leaves, eh? We'll have to try that one. Right now Chloe's into watering all visible dirt. :)
