a great day indeed

last night i woke up at about 2:30a only to discover that i couldn't get back to sleep. that's becoming more and more typical as i near the end of this pregnancy as might be expected. i tried to calm down and get back to sleep, but by 4am i decided to give in and go downstairs for a while. (i normally might just pop on the tv upstairs, but it's to the right of our bed and i can't for the life of me lay on my right side). so needless to say today i was pooped big time.

but what a nice treat and a special boost of energy i got from the fabulous day God gave us. the weather man told us it would be rainy and windy..... not yet! it's been warm, sunny, and gorgeous. so connor and i had a picnic lunch on the porch and then he played his own version of golf... or golfer as he calls it. it was just the energy boost i needed to get through the morning and make it to nap time.... oh, glorious nap time!!

when nathan got home the wind was going a bit stronger, but he was itching to get outside. so he took connor to the driving range and they hit a small bucket of balls. connor had a blast! he was ecstatic when nathan asked him if he wanted to go play golf. and now here i sit watching the masters b/c that's what nathan had the tv on and i'm not about to get up and get the clicker to change it.... what a slug, right? nah, it's just too nice with the sun coming in my window, a cool breeze sweeping through my house and my feet propped nicely on the ottoman. smells delish too.... lasagna must be done.

i taught him everything he knows about golf....haha!

nice follow through! that leaf went flyin', let me tell ya.

he loves to run in circles around this little patch of grass.... down the walkway, up the driveway, repeat....

he told me today that he wanted his packers shirt. and he's into wearing his hat like this lately. what a boy. love that kid.

He looks too cute in his favre jersey. He looks like he's seriously golfing - his swing is way better than mine. Believe me, we'll be watching the masters all weekend too. Who are you rooting for? Hope you got a good sleep last night!

Man, we love these stories and pics! He looks so good with that golf stance and follow through. I'm sure he and dad had fun at the driving range. Thanks for keeping us updated on things. We love you four.

i was a little surprised at how he picked up the mechanics of a golf swing. he's just like his daddy! sports seem to come so naturally. i personally don't have a favorite for the masters, and i think if nathan told his true thoughts he'd want tiger to win so he could get the grand slam. but he has a soft spot for phil.... i'm sure he has tons of favorites though. he picks out everyone's best qualities and makes this "super golfer" in his mind. haha!

connor got some golf clubs from one of the kids at church... she outgrew them and wanted connor to have them. so nathan is going to cut them down and regrip them. his little plastic clubs are NOT good enough for the sports perfectionist. haha! nathan decided to do that for this summer b/c he took him to the sports store and let connor try the clubs for ages 2-5. connor was sinkin' putts and loving using "real golfers"... as he called them.
