before nathan kills me....

no, he wouldn't really kill me.....come on? seriously? but he did make fun of how much i've slacked in my blogging this week. frankly, i have two good excuses: 1) until yesterday i didn't have any good pictures. 2) until lunch today i have felt like a slug.

friday i had a regular check up with my doc and he told me i failed my glucose test. FAILED! do you know what that does to a former teacher??? ok, it's not quite that dramatic, but it stinks b/c failing the one hour test means you have to eat a restricted diet for three days and then endure the dreaded three hour test. this happened with connor too. i passed the three hour test with him, so i really don't have concerns about failing the three hour test with this baby. but i do hate, hate, hate....yes, this constitutes using the word hate..... the diet for the three hour test. since tuesday i've eaten: for brefix--cereal with 2 tbs. sugar on top, white toast, milk; for lunch--baked potato, two pieces white bread, veggie, super sugary sweet tea to get my 2 tbs., and pie; for dinner--same as lunch. sugar and starch, sugar and starch. this means i have consumed an entire loaf of white bread, 6 potatoes, and 3/4 of a pie (one night nathan got me coldstone to mix things up--what a gem!!). if that doesn't make you feel like a slug, you must have a wicked good metabolism. if my family didn't have such diabetic tendencies i wouldn't have done this test. the first one (with connor) really did me in, and when my doctor told me i had to do it again i revolted. he was cracking up at my rantings and told me to go take the test. in other words, shut up and do it. i'm sure i give him comic relief b/c i'm such a sass-butt when i go in there. nathan has the office wrapped around his little finger. seriously, when i don't bring him they are SO disappointed. even my mom was asked about him when she was there last year. it's nice to have a doctor's office like that though.

so when i got back from my test (apparently, looking pretty pale and shaky) my mom said she'd take me to get something to eat. i was all for that b/c i was NOT in the mood to make lunches. we had ava bava b/c mike and nic are getting ready for winter camp, so the av-miester is staying with my parents for a fun weekend. so we met nathan at ruby tuesday for lunch and i had the best salad bar in the entire world. i loved it. green fresh veggies.... no bread, no potatoes, no dessert. it was fabulous. once the color returned to my face i was feeling much better. not having to cook dinner tonight will make it even more fabulous.....hint, hint! did ya catch that one, babe?

last night, we got to watch liela so ava and nic could go out for a fun mommy and daughter time. lie was supposed to come over during her afternoon nap and then mike was going to get her after work. everything was great....until i put liela in the pack-n-play and she started fussing a little. connor was devastated. he didn't understand that babies cry. which was perfect b/c i was able to teach him that sometimes babies cry but they're ok. they just don't know how to talk to tell us what they need. this seemed to appease him and we headed downstairs reluctantly. once we got down there the dominoes took care of the rest. connor built towers until liela woke up, and when she did he was ecstatic to go upstairs and get her. this big brother thing might work out after all. :~) we fixed a snack bottle for liela and connor wanted to help her hold it. he brought her toys and showed her books. it was too cute to see him take care of her. he loves his cousins, and since he's on the younger end of the crew this was the first time he really got to help take care of one of them. when we see christy's kiddos he loves to play with the boys and the girls dote on him. when he's with ava it's like they're more brother/sister than cousins. they're so close in age and they are starting to fight like siblings. still cute, i just have to keep an eye on them.

so that's the excitement from around here. not much going on, but we are starting to throw around some ideas for the baby's room.... stay tuned for those updates.

they had on matching hats when they went to get my ice cream. matchy matchy.... connor's face is so goofy. i love it.

here, liela. i'll help you.

hey, this isn't so bad... i could get used to one of these.

this video is showing just one of the things connor loves to do. he has always done this. it has always freaked me out. he's usually pretty good at it and i'm usually not as uptight about it, but he kept getting his feet caught and i kept picturing him face first on the hardwood floors. go ahead, say it...over protective. i'm unfazed. whenever we've told him to sit down on the couch he always obeys right away. i think b/c it's so fun to do this:

Bummer about the 3 hour test. Hope you got out of dinner tonight too. :) You could just put a box of cereal and gallon of milk on the table. :) I always love the look on Chris' face when I tell him cereal is for dinner when he asks. I've only been serious a few times. :)
