watching sports

it's been a sports fan's paradise around here lately. connor has watched the packers, red wings, icb girls hoops, and dillon wrestling. during the packers unfortunate loss he was, of course, wearing his favre jersey. that is a pretty big deal to him. i was kind of surprised, but he really does love when he gets to put it on. he watched the wings with daddy in the fort upstairs. last week we went up to the gym to see dillon wrestle. he did a really good job. when i told connor we were going to go watch dillon wrestle, he got pretty nervous. he kept saying, "mommy, i don't wrestle dillon." he was thinking that he had to wrestle dill and he was getting all kinds of freaked out. i figured out what he meant and i told him to relax, we were just going to watch dillon wrestle the other boys. then he would keep telling me, "mommy, i no wrestle dillon. i wrestle daddy. dillon wrestles the other boys." then last night.......

last night our kitchen sink got clogged. i never ever ever ever put meat down the disposal, and for whatever reason i put the last little bit of leftover roast down and .....sludge. we have a pretty average disposal. it does the job on the things i want it to. thankfully, it's still in good working order. but the nastiness that was our sink forced me out of the kitchen last night. it happened right before i was getting ready to cook dinner, so i sent nathan a text: the sink is clogged and making me gag. executive desicion: dinner's out tonight! :~) so when nathan got home from work he took connor to the girls hoops game and i headed out to target and to pick up dinner. when we got home nathan took the pipes apart and cleaned out the trap. unfortunately, the problem was deep in the nasty pipes of our 1940s house. after nathan's plumbing skills were exhausted, we bit the bullet and we got a call in to our plumber. thankfully, he had an hour between two other downriver jobs and he got the pipes snaked out very quickly. i have to say, i rather enjoyed having the night off.... we don't do that often anymore (i've really become the menu nazi...if it's planned it's GOING to happen) and it was quite a delight.

nathan said connor was cheering super loud at the game. he only likes to go to games where the crowds are... now, don't be upset girls..... well, the crowds are a little more sparse. he does NOT like going to boys' games. the crowds are full and loud. he even freaked out when we walked in to dillon's match and it was in the small gym. i'm sure he'll grow out of it and until then we'll just keep trying to warm him up to the craziness by taking him to the girls' games.

go packers!

one cheesy cheese head

have you ever tried to take a good picture at a wrestling match? it's not easy. dillon is in the purple, btw.

i tried to take this one while dill was wrestling. the kids were so distracted by the action. doesn't it look like ava is thinking, "that's gotta hurt!"

tough guys.... well, trying to be at least.

One of us must be color blind. I'm not seeing any purple.

sorry, he's got purple on his back, yellow on his side. i just said purple b/c i'm used to saying that as the main color from our school. if you can't find the yellow then you must have issues. :)
