the holidays are over

i get a little sad when i have to put away all my christmas decorations. i even get a little sad when the local radio stations stop playing 'round the clock christmas tunes. it's like the vacation's over and we're all just headed back to normal life again. everyone just seems happier when it's the holidays. it's not that the rest of the year doesn't have it's perks.... there's just a special feeling about the holidays. you can always feel it starting to build when halloween hits. by the time we get to thanksgiving we're having a blast. and forget about getting anything accomplished in december. by then we're in full holiday fun mode.

so today it was back to serious cleaning. no more of this december fluff. i had been wanting to really clean connor's room through all of december and .... well.... forget about it. so today the little man and i cleared everything out of his room and totally cleaned the floors. tomorrow i'm hoping to reorganize his toys, get his outgrown clothes packed away, and dust everything. he was a surprising help today. he understood all the directions i gave him and obeyed fairly well.

now i'm off to store the christmas decor in the attic and clean my hideously messy bedroom. that's the one bad thing about having the bedroom upstairs... i just don't get motivated to keep it as organized as i should. but i'm hopeful that i'll have the energy to finish that beast and then sweep the floors before nathan makes it home tonight.

in order to insure that i'll have the energy and pep in my step that i'll be needing to accomplish my list of today and tomorrow things, i'm saving my tally christmas stories and pics for tomorrow. the holidays may be over but i've got pictures burning a hole in my pocket. i sort of blogged my christmas in rewind, and since tally christmas was the first activity, it's the last bit of holiday pics i have left. i just can't say goodbye to the holiday spirit yet. besides, after today's to do list typing may be the only thing i can physically do tomorrow. :) here are a few cuties of the little man to hold you over until then.

we got connor this little lap tray for christmas. that way he can color, play play-dough, eat..... bunches of things.... all like a big guy. of course, when i bought it i never imagined that it would make a good tent too!

connor took the keyboard from an old desktop and now carries it around calling it his computer. when daddy's on the computer, so is connor.
