i had so much fun listening to him i made him wait at least five more minutes. it was too cute.
so last night we (as in the girls and all the kids--me, con man, nic, liela and av, and my mom) had dinner and girls night at nic's. the boys are up at the cabin hunting so we whipped out "that thing you do" and started quoting all the classic one liners. dinner was fab btw... nic made her special homemade spaghetti sauce and apple pie. connor ate better than he does at our house which proves either i stink at cooking or he just really wanted to make nic feel good. he's thoughtful that way.
so here's some favorite "lenny lines" b/c he's really the only funny one in the flick. there's probably a couple from the other characters too.
"guys, chad fell down."
"wonderful!"
"that's it!! the one-ders. and you know how the beatles use "ea" for beat? you can use o-n-e like the one-ders."
"you're talkin' gibberish."
"no, look *writes it down* the one-ders."
"that looks like the oh-nee-ders."
"no... the one-ders"
"got it. oh-nee-ders."
after laying down a stack of cash the pizza place owner says:
"do you know what this is?"
"presidential flash cards?"
"i'm reluctant to sign anything that has to do with my music."
"are you crazy??? a man in a really nice camper wants to put our song on the radio. gimme a pen. i'm signin' you're signin', we're all signin'."
"oh, and another thing. this one-ders? this doesn't work, it's confusing. from now on you'll simply be known as the wonders."
"as in 'i wonder what happened to the oh-nee-ders?'"
during a tv interview at a state fair show on tour:
"so tell me about this new record."
"oh, i'm not with these fellas. i've got a pig over in the livestock pavilion and i'm gonna win that blue ribbon."
and now the picture. it's not of connor, but it's a funny thing that connor did. he loves to help me put away the groceries. he grabs anything he can lift and brings it over to the fridge with all his might and grunting "here, mommy." like a box of noodles is really that heavy....he's just trying to make sure i know how hard he's working. :) i try to always keep the bread and eggs up high so he can't "help" with them, but one time i forgot. here's what happened.

They look like my rolls . . somehow kids, grocers or me it always seems like a couple get smooshed. Titus has just moved to his toddler bed and every morning she sings Mommy , mom, Ma mom mama .. (like he has to try every name) until his dad goes and gets him - yes Mike is very nice and lets me sleep in :)
That is so cute...conner calling your names and the buns...our bread/buns look like that often. Oh well. They love to help!
Sounds like you all had great fun. Love the connor print on the buns. Jonathan came in last night, as did Steven, Christy and the four. We also we taking care of Austin and Jordan Andrle (parents went to NY) so we had wall to wall kids. Uncle Jo-g on the "bed in a bag" on the dinning room floor.

Oh. my. Heart - I LOVE "That Thing You Do" - - - now I'm going to be singing it all day! Lenny is the funniest person EVER - his one-liners are priceless. I love what's-his-name's mom and dad, too - sooooo spacy! Ha ha! BTW: I think it's cutest when Connor calls you "Babe" since he hears Nathan do it! ha ha
I hear ya with the groceries, but Alex's thing is to shut the fridge door whenever it is open. So here I am trying to put all the cold stuff away, and every time I turn around the fridge is shut again. Ahhh, life with a toddler!!
