tigers game

nathan's office had tickets for monday night's tiger game. we really had a great time. comerica park is a really good setup for taking little ones. i'd highly recommend it. everything is so open and you can see the game even while you're getting popcorn, or just stretching antsy little legs.

ok, all you northland girls will LOVE this. well, everyone else will too, but it will hold a special nostalgic place in all you nbbc hearts. i don't have to tell anyone that life is tight. everyone that is getting started knows that a budget can be stretched in a million different ways. i've been praying for a few specific things lately, one of those needs was for a bill. a little bit of my birthday money was going to be just enough to cover it. praise the Lord! i hadn't told nathan about it, and when we were talking about the tiger game we decided to pay for parking and some snacks with a bit of my birthday money. i didn't tell him that i had hoped to use that money for the bill, but i just said, "ok, i probably won't get tons of snacks anyway." and he said whatever we didn't use would go right back in the bank. so i just prayed about it again. the night of the game he came home and said, "oh, yeah, i forgot. today at our meeting tony gave us an envelope of tiger fun money. check it out 60 bucks we can blow at the park." WOW! amazing, unbelievable, the EXACT amount we had set aside. we serve an awesome God. i was able to put all the money back in the bank. and let me tell you we had some serious fun spending $60! we would have NEVER spent so much of our own money. we bought popcorn, a pretzel, pop, water, 2 lemonades, twizlers, almonds (i brought them home for a special treat--there's no way i could've eaten them at the park... we were stuffed!), and we even got some goodies, a $12 sippy cup for connor..... yeah, $12!!!!! i couldn't believe people were paying that much. nathan got him a HUGE blow up bat too. you would've thought connor didn't eat dinner before we came--or ever in his life!-- the way he was slamming snacks. he was double fisting the popcorn, and he stole my lemonade many, many times. at about 10 pm when we were getting ready to go, we still had $5 of tiger money and some change. we decided to hit another shop and see if there was anything for $10. connor made a beeline for a nerf ball and bat. oh, great, i thought it would be $20 and we would have a big problem on our hands.... nope! $10!! perfect. the entire event ended up costing us $4.25, and we even got to ride the ferris wheel on the way out.

so here's the highlights. thanks to aunt elaine's stellar parking tip we parked at ford field about a 30 second walk to the beer hall door where we walked right in.... no waiting, just a short walk through the restaurant and we were in the park. phenomenal. connor LOVED watching batting practice. he loved running around. he loved yelling, "go tigers!" followed closely by, "yeah, joshua!" i'm not sure why he thought josh was out there. but he yelled it bunches of times. connor did really well, and we stayed until about 10pm. he loved it. probably b/c he was allowed to eat junk food until he was ready to puke, but that's not the point. he loved it and we had a great time with the people from the office.

i'm sort of pretending, sort of not. i HATE heights like this. when we stopped nathan was rocking the car and i was getting the freaked out shivers. i'll post the video later. it was pretty funny. connor loved it though.
