weird things sometimes make me laugh. today two things made me laugh at my life. i took full advantage of the fact that nathan was home this morning. he's taking an online class today, but it didn't start first thing in the morning so i asked if i could get out for an hour and he'd watch connor. he didn't mind at all, so i was ready to hit the town. where should i go? get my nails done? a massage? maybe i'd hit the mall for some window shopping. and then reality hit....i had to go to meijers. i figured the least i could do was take some quarters and hit the golden arches for a brefix burrito and a coke. so there i am in line, i order, and i was getting ready to pull up when i saw a car come along side me in the thru lane. i stopped b/c i didn't know if he saw me. he thought the same...so we were both stopped for all of 5 seconds when mr. impatient behind me yells, "come on, people!!!" before i knew it i yelled right back, "hey! don't be a jerk!" woops. i just get so frustrated when people can't wait 5 seconds to be polite. especially when it comes to being patient to elderly people...which the other driver was. needless to say i got my brefix and bolted hoping he wasn't a gun-toting road rager.
so i get to my fabulous destination and took my sweet time...since i didn't have connor singing at the top of his lungs, begging for juice, and grabbing everything he could get his little paws on. i'm just about done, and i get to the bread aisle. the bread guy says, 'hello' as many store employees do. but then he continues, "i see you in here all the time." oh, boy. i spend WAY too much time at meijers. i was telling nicole about this and she said that happened to her when she worked at linens -n- things. she would remember random people for weird reasons. and it's true. i know the lady that works in the health and beauty section b/c she used to work at the woodhaven meijers in the same section. i know the produce guy b/c he helped me pick out a good head of lettuce once.... i think i remember him b/c he was...um...unique. and the bread guy once chatted my ear off about his sons baseball team b/c connor was wearing his little baseball jacket. even though i am sure i threw into the conversation that i never played baseball and my husband was a soccer/golf/volleyball guy. but his son plays ball, so that's what he talked about.
two bonuses: i think i have beta blogger now. i asked for it a long time ago and they said they'd email me when one was available...still don't understand how that all works, but whatever... well, when i signed in everything looked slightly different. pretty sure it's beta. even bigger next bonus: we finally got our michigan tax return. a few months ago i got a letter from some department of inquiry....freaked me right out. well, i wrote a letter giving explanations they wanted and sent it away for review. bingo bango we got out return. i was pumped b/c as usual the Lord allowed it to come at just the right time.
well, nathan's studying his brains out for his next test, and we're headed out for some fishin' at grampa and granny b's tonight. oh, and i'm pulling a brenda.....i'm SUPER excited about something really fun and can't wait to tell the story, but i'm going to wait until after we finish the project to tell the story. how do you like that brenda?? two can play at this game....mwah ha ha ha ha! oh, yeah...my mugs got some serious air time on this weeks gilmore. i'm practically famous. HA!
