monday wasn't quite as lovely for the two of us.....me and the little man that is. it was a battle of the wills, and i'd like to think i won. but i came close to giving up that's for sure. i almost called nathan a couple of times, just to regain sanity, but i knew i just needed to sit down and get a grip. i needed a football coach to be there and pump me up. you know the speech.....half time, the team's bruised and battered, the qb sprained his throwing arm, coach just needs to pump them up even though the chips are down. i just had to pray and realize that i asked for this.....i asked the Lord to give us a baby at the right time. i know He did, but i tell ya sometimes the devil makes me wish for those single days. connor's really been such a blessing, but all mom's know those "rough days". well, nathan knew when he got home from work that it had been a rough day, so he took the little man to vb practice for half an hour so i could just have some quiet. i actually had to run to meijers for some bananas for the little man, so it worked perfectly.
no babysitting today. bummer. but the Lord is still good to provide our needs. monday, the girls were reading connor's books and they found an envelope. apparently, i stuck our christmas cards from gramma sanders in connor's christmas book and even though i told gramma i wouldn't forget it was there....yeah, i did. woops. don't be mad at me gramma.
so today i have to get some cleaning done. oh, wait...that's everyday. ha.

ok, girls. but i've only got a few minutes before mom comes, so i will only show you one more time. see the hand placement? that's key!

You're doing great my friend! Thankfully we have sensitive husbands who can sense our frustration and offer an extra hand. By the way, Connor's haircut looks great:).
That last photo of connor on the volleyballs is precious!
Praise the Lord for the patience and grace He gives us every day to deal with our little boogers. Hope today goes more smoothly for you. I've noticed that when Chloe and I have a rough day it seems that the following day is not so trying. Especially as we battle these toddler wills . . . seems like when they lose a battle their next attempt is not so strong.
So I am not the only mom who feels like she is going to lose it some days? I honestly don't know what i would do without Kevin, because when he is gone for long periods of time...i feel so helpless when the kids disobey and I am having one of those days!!!
Your little man is so cute looking...the last picture is adorable!!!
jen-
amen, sister. at least they have their "stress feelers" on high alert. it's nice to have that help.
alicia-
yep, i've noticed that too. yesterday i invited my neice over to play with connor and be a distraction of sorts. it worked wonders. and today he was fine to play alone.
heather-
yeah, i hear ya. when nathan was traveling life got rough around here. i'm SO thankful he is home now.
TOTALLY know how you feel. We actually had that sort of day on Monday too. Luke tore 5 or 6 books to SHREDS. Ridiculous. I was totally and completely fed up with him. Then he split his head open and I felt so sorry for him! :)
Hope you have some really good days soon. If you ever want to do a playdate, ring me up.
I'm sorry about your rough day. I think you're a great mom & am glad things got better.
It's amazing what bundles of perplexities little kids can be. They can make you smile and laugh one minute, but then make you pull your hair out the next. The Lord's grace and a good sense of humor are the only things that get you through it.
