holiday fun

we had a very busy and very fun end to our week. when nathan came home from practice thursday night he found the ncaa women's vb semi-finals on espn2. well, in a matter of seconds he was calling his team to make sure they were watching. (bonus points to holly!! she was the only one watching already.) then he got the idea to have the team over saturday night to watch the finals. actually, we both had the idea at the same time....scary. we were already planning to go over to chris and kt bruno's for "dinner"--just joking kt!--and we would be home in time to watch the game (it started at 9pm).

i called it "dinner" b/c katie had fixed bunches and bunches of hors d'oeuvres. when we talked on the phone we were laughing about hitting the drive thru on the way home, but trust me no one needed to hit the drive through. even nathan said, "i'm really full" when we were leaving....this coming from a guy who consistently eats cereal after dinner, and then tells me that dinner was really good and he just wanted a snack. i've learned not to take it personally. i worked hard on dinner, so if he doesn't like it.....tough. ;) and kt's "dinner" was delightful. it was a fun night just hanging out with old and new friends. the kids were hilarious, but sadly our little ava bava wasn't there. grampa and granny b were watching her b/c her parents are very smart and didn't want anyone else to get the flu that bava just got rid of....of course, mike ended up getting sick that night. figures. i am just praying and praying that connor doesn't pick it up before we go to florida.

so after dinner it was volleyball. we were surprised by how many girls were able to come.....it was a pretty late start and add that to the fact that it was a saturday night. but some girls got to stay until the game was almost over. so it turned out great.

sunday was sort of a "pseudo" christmas. we went over to uncle mitch and aunt tina's for lunch and connor got some presents since this was our last chance to see everyone before florida. he got to show off his christmas outfit from gramma sanders, and he got some new books and cashola from gramma and papa. he also got some cool little people toys from uncle paul & aunt elaine and uncle mitchell & aunt tina's families. he was loving the sponge bob mini balls that uncle paul picked out. yeah, my 40-something dentist uncle is a huge sponge bob fan. (that's almost as bad as the fact that he's a nascar fan too....don't get me started).

ok, if you've ever visited uncle mitchell's blog you'd know that they just got wii. well, it was the hit of the dinner this week. i'm going to do everything in my power to get the video uploaded b/c i've got gramma sanders (my great gramma) on video playing wii golf, and i've got my uncle david and aunt claudia boxing against each other. hilarious.

this one will really only phase hairgroves.....guess what daddy-ism connor has picked up?

that's right....you guessed it.

our little shepherd boy

since connor's hair has recently come under attack by many of the men in my family, i thought i would show this hum dinger. harry, lloyd, or just mullet?

hey! leave my hair alone!

what? i wasn't peeking at presents.

this one generally stops my heart

mom, i think i'm gonna be sick......

He is such a handsome little guy - I'm glad we got to play with him on Sat. night. Luke had fun with him - he had fun with everybody. He likes to show off a bit. He surprised me and gave me the gift of obediently going to bed Sat. night! I couldn't believe it. Miracles do happen.

Luke woke up stuffy and seemed a little out of his groove today. I'm with ya, praying that he won't get sick before Christmas. I heard on Sunday that Mike went home and started puking. Maybe it was the meatballs or something. :)

Christina,
What's your trick for always having your pictures in order? Every time I upload pics they go in some crazy order and I can't straighten them out.

katie-
wow! after the wild weekend he had i'm glad (for your sake) that he did. :)
yeah, i felt so bad for mike. he's doing better now though.

kelly-
when i upload they automatically go to the top of my post, so i always cut and paste them to the spot i want. i used to drag them but for some reason i haven't been able to do that with firefox. (it's most likely possible, i just prefer to cut and paste).
