my poor connor boy

it's nearing tomorrow and i am still downstairs. last night was hiddeous. connor woke up every two hours on the button just like old times. he was feverish yesterday and this morning. droolin' like a fool, so i thought it was teething. well, my opinion/self-diagnosis changed about 40 times today. i would talk to someone and they would say, "teeth" then the next would say, "ear infection". at this point i don't know which end is up. all i know is, we are well on our way to a repeat of last night's festivities.

i'm calling the doc first thing.

today was busy. aunt tina watched connor so i could go to my doc. appt. (just a check up i'm not sick...) then i was going to head over to my parents house and finish making some dvd's of home videos.

i had a great old time at the doc's. it was wicked packed in there, so i was about 40 minutes behind schedule. but the girls that work there are real gems and i like chatting with them. i was afraid of them at first, but nathan came to an appt. one time and made friends. now they always ask about him. today he called while i was chatting with them and they were both yelling hi into the phone......what a hoot.

then i got out to aunt tina's and found that connor was happily sleeping and had played wonderfully. that always makes me feel better. he can be a horror for me and i'm okay with that, but if someone else is watching him....i hate to find out he's been a pain in the toosh.

as i was leaving i realized i had forgotten my key to my mom and dad's. STINK! so i tried calling my mom at school (she works fairly close to her house. so it made sense to go get a key from her) i couldn't get a hold of her which meant i would have to go bustin' through her school. i got out and found her chatting with a teacher who has a baby around connor's age. i was telling them my woes about the previous night and she told me about the "fabulous" teething tablets. i was desperate. connor was in a major funk and i was ready to try anything. so after i got my mom's key, i headed to walmart to find these wonders of nature. let's just say, when i tried them out, you would have thought i put acid on connor's tongue. so i tried disolving it in a little water and giving it to him in a medicine dropper......spew! out came a fountain of tablet water. he is VERY picky about what goes into his mouth....which i should have known when i tried to let him suck on a tab....chalk city baby. they aren't very appealing. so my fault on that one, but the dissolved version??? come on, kid...you're killin' me here!

so tonight, he's full of baby tylenol yet again.

meanwhile, back at the ranch......

i finished my first dvd's and they are fabulous.....if i may say. ok, i can't take all the credit....the mac does all the hard stuff.

and i just had a wonderfully delightful time with my gal pal kt. we haven't had a good old girls night in a while so it was really nice to chat. we, of course, watched gilmore....rivetting! and then we watched the tigers get shmoed. chris, the lateness of your wife is totally my fault. i get pretty bored at night with no adults to talk to, so katie had to endure the outpouring of all my pent up "grown up" talking. kind of like what nathan went through when i was with 15 six-year-olds all day. i still use little words b/c of first grade. it's fading though. just in time for connor to learn some real hum dingers, like antidisestablishmentarianism.

well, i think i am going to make a bed on the couch. it's easier to get up if i don't have far to go. my attitude is worse when i have to get out of my nice warm bed. though, last night i will say, i truly counted it a blessing to snuggle my boy. at first, i was upset that i had to get up. he is usually a VERY sound sleeper. if he fusses at all it's for about 10 seconds and then he finds his blankie and thumb....linus style...and it's back to dreamland. but i knew it was bad when not only did he keep fussing, he let me rock him to sleep once. that is such a rare thing with connor i just prayed and thanked God for the chance to do it. i wasn't upset anymore. and i think that's the reason i'm still down here. after katie went home connor got really fussy again, and i rocked with him in his chair. we used to sit there all the time. it was nice to go back. felt like home.

ok, quit getting me all mushy...it must be late. in other news....my cousin daniel scored three goals tonight in the first game of regionals. way to go, dan! i'm sure it was because of joshua's excellent teamwork. and because aunt elaine was wearing my old varsity jacket....it has magic powers. :) yes, i was on varsity teams! quit laughing!!

connor looked cute in his tigers shirt today....you'll have to go to aunt tina's blog for a pic..those dvd's took up all of my creative juices, so i didn't get any pics today.

ps-happy tomorrow.

I'm hoping your night was better than expected. I felt so bad for you. Don't worry about me getting home late - you weren't pulling my teeth or anything. Chris wouldn't have cared if I had stayed later. I should've brought my jammies!

We had an exhausting morning at Sam's Club, but I'm now a member. Yippee! :)

it wasn't so hot, but i was mentally prepared.
sam's can be overwhelming, but it's worth it, i say. i stock up on tons of things there...and pictures are super cheap.
