well, one year ago today at this time (3:15p) i was just waking up from my nap. i had been awake ALL night with what i thought to be braxton-hicks contractions. i wasn't too worried about it though b/c i had a dr. appt. at 9am the next morning. so i went and doc grahovac said, "you could be waiting another week" then came my typical question..."yeah, but how will i know??" and his typical answer...."you'll KNOW!"
a week.....yeah, right. i was sitting in a delivery room by 7:30 that night. doc walks in and i say, "a week, huh?" by 10:56pm there was one more hairgrove man in the world.
i love that memory. anxiously timing my contractions at home. even being sick to my stomach and not being able to eat dinner. even washing up the kitchen b/c i didn't want to come home to a mess! :) even trying to talk nathan out of going to the hospital b/c "that one was a little easier" until 5 minutes later when a big one hit and saying, "ok, we can go now"
i loved seeing connor for the first time...and then freaking out when i thought, "oh, yeah, we have to take him home....forever". i loved it that i had a brain freeze when the nurse brought him in from the nursery and said, "he needs a new diaper".....oh, you want ME to do that! duh!!
i am just so thankful that the Lord blessed us with this little boy. even now when his attitude and strong will are becoming more and more evident....i know he's just the right fit for us. he's just what we needed to learn how to be parents, and we're just the parents he needed. God makes no mistakes. and i can only pray that He helps keep ours to a minimum. :)
if ever there is a doubt in your mind that people are inherantly good.....come to my house. all you'll need is about 10 minutes. i want connor to learn early on that yes, his IS a sinful creature, just like mommy and daddy. i loved what pastor juan used to say with his little girl..."what does daddy call you?" and she would respond is her cute childlike voice, "his depwaved wittle sinna". so happy birthday to my 'depwaved wittle sinna'.
we really had a nice day together. we went for brefix at the silver spoon...carol, it was sort of in honor of you too b/c it was your blog that gave me the idea. i went upstairs to wake up nathan and said, "so do you want to go to silver spoon or do you want me to cook?" he laughs and says, "well, that was a loaded question!"
oh, yeah! guess who i saw at silver spoon???? erik estrada!!!! the a.p. cop that looks like him. and he was with one of nathan's friends. and by friend i mean the policeman that pulled nathan over. don't worry it was a while ago.
so now, i am headed out to buy some of the food for friday's bash. and by "buy" i mean, let my mom pay. :)

Congrats Connor you made it through your parents first year experience as parents. :) He is blessed to have parents that are working hard to teach him in the ways he should go. Keep it up you're doing great mom and dad. Connor...make them work for it. (sorry I had to say that)
HOpe the spoon and the day were good to you. Enjoy the celebrations!
Uh, hello, Ethel - between your memories and Lucy's tribute to her mom, I'm simply going to have to grab a kleenex before I start reading these things! Love the "then" and "now" pics - what a cutie!!!!
Hey how are you I like the two pictures and two people did not change but one did but Conner is still cute in both pictures I like them.
¡¡CumpleaƱos feliz!! ¡¡Que tengas un dia buenisimo y que comas mucha tarta!!

gracias! you gave me a good brain teaser for connor's naptime. i had to hit a spanish to english website. :) and yes, much cake has been devoured and one more cake will soon lose it's life to the destructive power of my son. :)
Glad your birthday festivities are off to a great start. It's always fun to have more than one party (more than one cake, duh). I thought of you yesterday, and the funny thing is, Chris' grandma had breakfast at the spoon (may've been more like lunchtime though) - she goes there after Curves. LOL
Aww! What a precious little bundle at the beginning and a BIG BOY at the end! Looks like you guys really enjoy being parents.
Are you ill? Did your camera break? Are you still sleeping? It's Sunday afternoon and there are no pics of the Friday night birthday bash............!!!!!! Let's get movin', girl! :)
yes, no, and yes.
i was so pooped from this week i did get a little run down. and i was asleep for much of sunday. i am such a loser to let down the blogging world. can you ever forgive me? :)
