so yesterday, we hit the mall around 10:30 and just walked around all day. if you've never been to this place, let me just tell you....it's huge. the first time we walked in we both said, "wow". honestly, it's big. we walked all three levels on the "normal" side, and even hit both levels of the "snooty" side. it was really enjoyable. i even found some sweet deals on the summer clearance racks at ann taylor loft.
as we sat in the food court cleaning up the mess that was connor, nathan said, "boy! has life changed!" we used to hit somerset all the time for date nights. we would grab dinner at the food court or go to our favorite place, noodles. we would take off after work and just zip through our favorite stores. we'd be in and out of the mall in no time and then we'd hit rei, gander mountain, and tj maxx on the way home. now, we are so slow. get out of the car.... set up stroller........double check bag.......get connor into stroller........walk to door.......open door and shove stroller through.......and don't even get me started on trying to eat at a food court with a stroller! yeah, everything sure has changed. but i know we're both thankful for the change.
we hit target on the way home b/c i needed to grab some food for connor and a few little things. so there we are in the jewelry looking through the clearance earings to go with my new shirts. all of a sudden i look over to see connor chewing on the bottom of nathan's (thankfully empty) starbucks cup. mocha dripping down his arm, onto his shirt, and then plopping on his legs. he was covered. so i grab the cup and clean him up as much as i could, which turned out to be not so much.
then i dropped off the boys for nap time and headed to babies r us for some safety gates. that's right. connor's finally crawling forward. he's been scooting backwards for a super long time, which meant i could always count on him to stay put or get stuck under a couch and not really go anywhere. well, let me just say, as soon as that kid figured out crawling forward he took off. he's unstopable. so nathan put the gates up for me last night. now i can actually get things done without worrying about where connor is....or putting him in his crib with some books and toys. :)

I second your emotions about somerset. HUGE-OLA and so pretty. Chloe and I spent several hours walking around . . . Now you tell me about the snooty side! :) Congrats to Connor on his crawling! Walking won't be far behind now.
that's right! i had forgotten you guys were up in our stompin' grounds. ok, now as for the snooty side.....i don't remember which side it is directionally, but it is the side with only two levels including j.crew, crate & barrel, polo, burberry, kate spade, saks, etc. that side is the one we call the snooty side b/c every one that shops on that side just seems very hoity toity, ya know? we always go over there, hit j.crew and come right back (by way of starbucks of course). but i love the fountain on that side. did you see it? it's so captivating.
