the stupidest parents in the world

i know i briefly mentioned this in a previous post, so now here's the whole story......
the saturday that we were going over to visit my fam we packed in a big hurry. well, i had made some bottles for connor and stashed them in the fridge. that way, during the day i could just pull one out and pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds. great idea when you'll be home and they can stay in the fridge.

well, i put them in our little bottle pack and off we headed to hit the outlets and then to see my fam. normally this would be a one hour drive. but i forgot to add in time for the outlets. so the bottles sat in the car getting warm for well over their two hour limit. meanwhile, nathan and i were just shopping away. i seem to recall thinking, "hmm, i wonder if those bottles will be bad?" but apparently, stupidity doesn't register when you're on vacation.

and of course, many hours later, connor got hungry...as children do. and i thought, boy i'm glad i've got these bottles ready to go! IDIOT!!! i know that my subconscious self was screaming her typically obsessive compulsive head off, "hey stupid! you made those bottles hours ago!! what are you thinking?? HELLO! are you kidding me? you're giving that to him? social services is on line one--they're going to take your son away dork-wad!"

but vacation chrissy wasn't hearing that voice. so into the mouth went the bottle, and five minutes later connor was covered in puke!

he puked for some of the next day too. i thought i was going to lose my mind if he was sick again. but it only lasted that day. poor kid. i know this is the beginning of a very long line of mistakes we will make, but it just makes you feel like a dork when it happens.

so to make us feel a little better (by laughing at ourselves) nathan's parents made this hilarious poster and had it waiting for us when we got back. it's always nice when you can laugh at those situations. at least connor is okay.
