happy valentime's day

i love how little kids say "valentime's day" instead of valentine's day. it was one thing i never corrected when i was teaching. you've just gotta let 'em be kids sometimes.

anywho.....these pics have absolutely nothing to do with valentine's but that's ok.

i'm not sure if you can tell what it says on connor's pj's. the top says "little ace airshow" and nathan's pointing to "daddy's little ace"

Great "ace" outfit! I've been meaning to ask you - where did you guys come up with that nickname? Very cute.

Did Nate do that memory book thing online? I've seen it advertised on snapfish. Sounds like a lovely gift!

alicia,
nathan heard ace somewhere and desperately wanted it to be connor's first name.
we "discussed" :-) it for most of my pregnancy. i was driven to tears thinking of my little boy going to a job interview when he was 20 years old and hearing him say, 'hi, my name's ace hairgrove.'
i suggested just using it as a nickname, nathan wanted it to be his first name, so we met in the middle...literally. it's connor's middle name. and we're both happy enough with that.
it's funny, sometimes people in church will call him connor with me and ace with nathan. my neighbor (a very sweet elderly lady) asked me what his name was and when i told her she said, "i don't particularly care for that" all i could do was laugh.
most of our family calls him ace. i think they just get a big kick out of it.

as for the book. yes, it was totally done online. he downloaded pictures using our blog. i think he said it was shutterfly.com. not positive though.
