happy birthday, connor!!!

our little man is turning 3 on saturday. wow. three! he's the epitome of a 3-yr-old boy. he's full of energy, loves to ask questions, pushes my buttons, and just loves life. i love my con-man. i love that he is sweet to his sister. i love that he constantly wants to be with his daddy. i love that he wants to play every sport imaginable. i love that he is left handed...silly, i know, but i always thought it was so cool that my dad was left handed. i love that he is so wild and crazy. i love that he still wants to snuggle me on the couch.

he's already had quite the birthday celebration. he's been getting presents, eating cake, getting cards, hearing 'happy birthday' from friends in his class. i think he's going to start believing birthdays last a week... or two. :)

sunday was the tally party. we had a cookout at my parents. it was sort of last minute b/c if we didn't have it sunday, we would be waiting until the end of the month. so at first we thought it was going to be thrown together and people might not be able to come.... but it was a killer party! and we were only missing aunt elaine, laura, and the college cousins-- david and daniel.

my mom made the cake and it was PHENOMENAL. i loved it. one of the boy cousins saw it and said... "that was aunt claudia-worthy!" she has always made the coolest cakes for her boys' birthdays. and this was a great cake.

and as a special part of his birthday celebration connor got to go paddle with grampa. this was a pretty big deal. he's only been asking EVERY DAY if he could go paddle someday. well, he got his chance.

here are some highlight pictures from the festivities.

my mom made connor's new hero into a cake. spongebob... complete with toy clapper hands and swiss cake roll shoes. isn't she creative?

just don't spit on the cake!

i love presents!
