he's the big brother!

connor has been slowly adjusting to megan. he has done well as far as being gentle with her, and he has become more aware of her.... at first, he was like many kids and could have cared less. then he went through a super sensitive phase and cried when she cried. he was genuinely upset. now he cries when she cries b/c he thinks that's how he'll get attention. he's learning THAT'S not cool by me. two screaming kids can really do a number on ya. can't even imagine more.... and all the moms of 3+ kids give a hearty amen! yeah, we all know it's worth it, but we all know the feeling of "i'm gonna lose it!!!"

so today for some reason megan didn't want to take a nap at her regularly scheduled nap time. stinkin' blinkin'! which of course, threw off her feeding schedule and in turn, my life schedule. so i was getting ready to make nathan's lunch and she woke up screaming to be fed as though she hadn't been fed in all of her 5 weeks here on this planet. when connor was a baby i would have just tried to appease him while attempting to make lunch at the same time. or i would have skipped making lunch and told nathan to make himself a pbj when he walked through the door. this time i decided to do what my dad would have done... put the kids to work! so i whipped up a bottle and told connor i had a job for him. when i start a sentence with "connor i have a job....." he comes running saying, "yes, mom!" i love that he's so enthused about jobs.

it worked out perfectly that i had put him in his big brother shirt today. aunt elaine got the kids a big brother/little sister shirt and he was wearing his today. he did a pretty good job until he got bored. but just about that time i was finishing up what i needed to get done so i took over just in time.

So you had time to wideo, but no time to feed your own flesh and blood.

yeah, and i have time to spell check too.
i don't need to defend myself. aunt tina will tell you that grabbing a quick video takes just a quick minute. getting a baby to eat can take FOR-E-VER

Soooo cute - he really is a GREAT big brother! You're one smart mom to have a son who hears the word "help" and comes running! (And way to give it back to Mitch!) hee hee :)
