what a goof ball--and updates galore

connor got some little books from momma jo-g in the mail. he's been reading them and singing in the sweetest little voice while i've been cooking dinner. somehow..... don't ask which parent it comes from, we will both deny it to the death..... he has a tendency to freak out with frustration when he falls, drops something, bonks his head slightly, etc. he usually yells, "NOOOO!!!" to which we have started responding with a stern, "connor, what's the response?" or "connor, what is the answer?" it's sinking in b/c just now he dropped his little pile of books and said, "NNNN....... oh, wait, mom..... what's the answer? i know. i should say, 'oh, well,' and pick them up."

ok, that happened the other day and i typed it up b/c i knew i would forget it and it cracked me up at the time..... it's really not all that funny at this point in time. so here's what we've been up to: it snowed yesterday, and it was pretty nice so connor and i decided to head out. he got a really nice snow suit last year from a friend and i found a growth stitch in it, so it still fit this year. i just had to let out the growth stitch...... 45 minutes later!!..... i couldn't believe how hard it was for me to get that dumb thing out. of course, i don't have a seam ripper and if i had done it at my mom's the time we were over there playing in the snow it would have been so much easier. but i didn't so there i was with my tomato knife slicing and dicing this thing. by the time i was done i knew i wouldn't have time to play outside and still get nathan's lunch done so i decided to just wait until after lunch. it was a good thing too b/c i was getting kind of light headed and needed to eat first. when nathan got home for lunch he was asking me what i was going to wear out in the snow. i told him i thought about wearing his hunting coveralls b/c they were huge....as am i... he cracked up at me and dug them out. i really wish he wouldn't have b/c i looked HIDEOUS!! oh, my word, i couldn't believe how dorky i felt. but i was warm and connor had a blast. i told nathan we would definitely be staying in the backyard so as not to be seen..... wouldn't ya know it two neighbors were outside shoveling! i could do nothing but crack up. then when nathan got home he took connor out to play again and they made a giant snowman. connor loved it. we used the snowman kit that nathan's boss gave us for christmas. what a cute little kit it is... and a really creative gift idea for a family. you could easily make one for a homemade gift..... for all of you crafty sue's out there. today was a baby megan check-up.... if that indeed is her name--if not, boy is connor gonna be messed up. she's doing great. and i passed my glucose test for those of you that remembered and listened to me gripe about having to eat white bread and potatoes for 3 days. by the way... we do NOT have enough time before she gets here. we were talking at dinner tonight and realizing how much stuff needs to be done before she gets here. things sure have changed since connor was born. by this time his room was done, his clothes were stacked neatly in his drawers, the bottles were washed, and i'm pretty sure my bags were packed for the hospital. i don't even know if i have enough clothes for baby girl yet. she'll be living upstairs with us for the first few months so i don't have to worry about bedding right away, or even have her room ready. works for me! potty time is going well. i really think he's starting to get it. he even tells me when he has to go sometimes... surprisingly, even when he's been wearing a diaper. it's becoming more and more frequent which is really encouraging to me. i'm hopeful that he'll get #1 down fairly quickly. #2 will be another story. i'll spare you the details. .... you're welcome. that's pretty much it as far as the goings-on around here.

ok, it's now day three of me writing this post. i was going to finish it last night and blogger was down for maintenance. today was bowling and we had a special treat of lunch out with papa and tally. my bowling has been going downhill in a big way. but somehow lora has carried our team and we are now in third place. we only have a few weeks left, so i'm hoping i can go out with a bang.

so here's a few pics of our snow fun...... no comments about my hideousness please. :~)

this was the morning of the snow. he was quite thrilled that he learned how to suction a bowl to his face.

If you think you look huge, then I was a hippo! Just as long as your little girls has a couple pj's, clean diapers, and love, she'll be all set!
Looks like you had a lot of fun in the snow!

oh, pam... you're a crack up. you know how it is when you feel ginormous even if you just look normally pregnant... and being short makes it harder, well, i think so. you know?

i'm thinking this little girl will have all those things and not much more. haha! she'll be set for a while!
