connor and ava

yesterday was absolutely fabulously warmish. i decided to go for a walk with the little man and see if nic wanted to come with us. when we got to mike and nicole's house i saw both cars. oh, dear. i hope mike's not home sick...... nope. it was nicole. she was out in a big way. mike had stayed home for the morning to take care of the girls. so i went ahead and took av hoping it would be a help to them. i brought ava back muddy and crying. maybe not the best move..... well, she wasn't crying when we walked in the door, but she cried a little when connor was running. she thought he was attacking her. understandably. he's been a hyper spaz lately. it just makes me even more thankful that the Lord gave us a warm day in january to go out and burn some energy. they did have fun though. they took sticks and swished the puddles to make soup. they raced, ran and got to yell and say hi to cars.

so today i have ava-bava b/c nic is still pretty sick. connor has ..... um..... how can i say this in a positive way?.... he has taken it upon himself to really learn how to treat girls today. he's learning a lot! :) it's been an interesting day for him. but right now everyone is napping, so i'm quite content. i had ava all set up in the pack-n-play to sleep in the office/baby's room. i thought connor would like to say goodnight to her before his nap. i think i was wrong. when i got ava in the bed, connor said goodnight and we started to leave. he freaked. he didn't want me to close the door. i thought he was just being stubborn and throwing a fit, so we headed to his room for some serious attitude adjustments. nothing was working. nothing. i even tried to snuggle him in his chair. still freaking out yelling, "don't close the door. ava! ava! don't close the door!" so i thought maybe ava should come say goodnight to him.

since he was still carrying on, i started asking questions. turns out he was scared for ava. he didn't want her to be sad. either that or he played me like a fiddle. so i pulled ava's bed into the little man's room and let them hang out for a little while together. here's the conversation they had before i finally decided to separate them.

av: connor, you have georges? (he has a few curious george stuffed animals in his bed).
con: yeah, i love georges.
av: i have baby doll.
con: is she sleepin'?
av: she's tryin'. you lay down. (said with thumb in mouth... that explains why connor misunderstood)
con: gatti-town??
av: no, you lay down.
*random conversation swap*
con: daddy's at work. you have any cash? (he still asks us this. he got it from our trip to greenville when i asked nathan that question as he was getting ready to get fill up the car with gas).
av: yeah.
con: where's pooh bear go?
av: he go potty poop.
con: oh, no! that stinks!
*random conversation swap*
av: lay down, baby.
con: no. i not baby! i have baby sister.
av: you baby?
con: no. monkey.
av: you baby? you got baby megan? in your house?
con: yeah. in my house. you wakin' up av?
no way, av. you have cash?
av: wanna see bb and grampa?
con: yeah, i hungry. oh, ....my.....my night night.
ava?
av: yeah.
con: want a story, av?
av: no. do you have cash?
con: yeah, i have cash in my pockets.
ava? i see you!
*then we quickly digressed into a silly fest*
both: dadda... dadda..... d adda..... dadda.
av: you lay down, k?
con: ava, stand up! no you stand up!
av: i see you!
con: i see you! peek-a-boo! bb!
that's not bb, silly boy. she at her house.
*small pause*
both: cheese! cheeeeeese! peek-a-boo!
con: ava? ava? AVA!
both: hahahahahahahhaha! hahahahahahhahahahahhahahhaha!
*enter mommy/aunt chrissy*

ava had to go potty so that was the perfect time to take her out and let them get a good nap.
well, we'll see about that. but so far so good. thankfully, i'm making goulash for dinner tonight. easy peasy lemon squeezy. i always make a double batch so i think i'll send some home with mike when he gets ava after work.

well, i think connor's getting up. so i better scoot. these pictures are actually from saturday when both girls were over for an hour in the morning.

liela was all bundled and snuggly.

connor and ava had pancakes and watched cartoons. they did alright sharing that little lap tray.

katie-
they were cracking me up today!

brenda-
yes, he got a chop. we don't like it that short anymore, but the little turkey jerks his head around and nathan buzzed it too short in a spot that couldn't be hidden. we had to go the whole way. we were pretty sad to see it go. i'm just glad he can go either way. long or short i think he looks fine. so thanks!

and that's my favorite name for the new baby. connor heard us saying it and has latched on to it. i definitely don't mind. :) i sure hope that is her name or we are going to have one confused and possibly sad little boy. ;)
